The Über tricks also feel a little low-risk. Before, they used to be big, lengthy manoeuvres that you could only do on the biggest jumps. Now, it feels that if you're not in super-tricky, you're doing it wrong. I just fear that they won't feel special any more.

I think they were trying to show off that this game still had the classic SSX elements and wasn't all about the deadly descents since a lot of people didn't like all the talk about the Deadly stuff and were worried it wouldn't feel like an SSX game.
And yeah I agree about the Uber tricks. While it's nice that you can bail out of a trick in the middle of it and still land, it takes away a lot of the risk in the risk-vs-reward of big tricks.
