I feel like you get to see more of the world in Seasons, with the eponymous seasonal gimmick as well as the underground Subrosia. Ages' place and place-again-but-the-past feels... lesser. Again, it's probably all in my head, you're going to have fun.

I intend to play both- I looked around online which to play first and it seemed roughly 60-40 in favour of Ages so I went with it. Apparently Ages is a lot more puzzle-heavy, and it certainly feels like it, at least using Link's Awakening as a yardstick.

I have half a mind to play the Love Live game. How hard does it pump you for money, and do I need a G+ account or to make some other account to play?

It depends a lot- you get enough "live points" and they regenerate fast enough that you can play casually and never run out (the currency you buy with $$$ is love gems which instantly refill your Live Points if you really want to play more, but they seem to throw a lot of love gems at you all the time). Love gems are also used to scout new members though and if there's a specific girl you want, you'd probably need to open your wallet since it's entirely random what you get. For reference, I've played six weeks and haven't spent a penny yet.
You only need access to your android or iOS storefront to download it, and the game asks you to register an account within it which is just a case of choosing a username and a starting girl.
