This one is called 'Helpless'
Words come and flow past my ears
I hear, I listen, and I nod
For what else can I do?
He talks faster now
As if desperately trying
To throw off this burden
The sounds hurt since
For once in my life
I cannot answer
Then the tears come
In droves, in storms
I hold him and sigh
He is hesitant now
Darker, quieter, subdued
The flame not out, but small
For I wonder
What can bring
The life back in his eyes?
It seems all I can do
Is hold him, listen to him
And I feel for him.
