So, the fiends were summoned by a giant, green, adolescent, emo superhero?
I'll buy it, and here's why:
In the original game, there is no damn justification given, whatsoever, for why the fiends are in the Temple, other than the fact that this is the "Temple of Fiends." Being that they were already dead, and as such, shouldn't have been there, regardless, the developers of the original game used even LESS justification for how they got there. At least with this version we have a reason, (albeit a ridiculous one) for their sudden presence, and we can extend the whole "Temple of Fiends" argument to show why they appeared there, instead of where they were summoned.
In other words, I'm taking this as a joke about how games often force the player, quite inexplicably, to fight all the bosses again, right before the final battle.
