That's something I'll never know. I've never been suicidal but:
In person I'm rather hyper and full of energy, but in the winter I get a kind of seasonal depression, things seem duller and I lose motivation. I stop hanging out with friends as much. I've figured out how to deal with this like a basketball player who knows how to focus anger. I use this more mellow state of mind to read and write and reflect, as being this still doesn't happen often for me, some of my best discoveries about myself happen during this time.
I suppose the somewhat sudden social reclusion sets off warning bells in some people's mind. Every year I was at school teachers would pull me aside and ask me if anything was wrong, newish friends would confront me, most people understand after a while but sometimes people just don't get that I'm an extrovert for 3/4ths of the year but around the time the sun gets blotted out I turn into a recluse.
