Default "Cooking with Robin!" or "Things I do in my kitchen."

The biggest advantage I found is now that I have my own space...I can cook for myself and if I want...others. This is rather useful as one of the things I absolute enjoy is working in the kitchen and cooking/creating food. So I figured I would start a thread sharing the projects I do.

We will start with tonight's/tomorrow's project..."Robby's Old Bay Ranch Pasta Salad"

Stage 1
Quote:
1-2 days in advance, cut up your favorite veggies diced. I am going with Carrots, Celery, and Red Radishes. 1/2 cup of Carrots and Celery and Radishes are 1/3-1/2 cup depending on size of the radishes. Now add in a half cup/1 4oz can of finely chopped black olives, a 1/3 cup of green olives sliced (with the pimentos), and 1/3 cup of julliened sun-dried tomatoes.

Put this all in a container with 1 Tablespoon of Old Bay Seasoning (3 teaspoons) and 1 teaspoon of the brine from the green olives. Shake violently and than put in the fridge and let sit 20-24 hours. Take it out before you go to bed and when you get up to shake it again to make sure nothing has a chance to settle.
Stage 2
Quote:
Cook/add in your meat of choice the next day. I prefer Shrimp steamed in Old Bay or Chicken with various toppings. What I am going with here is a 12 Pepper Blend and Dried Garlic + Sea Salt in a grinder on 3 boneless + skinless chicken breasts. Cook according to directions and let sit in the fridge till cool. Proceed to stage 3.
Stage 3
Quote:
Use 12oz of Bowtie Pasta and cook according to directions. Rinse in Cold Water till noodles are cool. Throw noodles, meat, and veggie blend into a huge bowl with one bottle of Ranch Dressing of your choice. Rinse the bottle out with 1/4 cup of skim or 1% milk. Stir till thoroughly blended. Cover/Put into container(s) and either enjoy later or refrigerate overnight to enjoy on a hot and humid day.

mIrAcLeS I cannot comprehend the form of Robby's attack (not knowing how much pasta).

What I like about this recipe is that an 8oz boneless, skinless chicken breast is 240 calories. You've got three, so that's 720 calories from chicken.

A whole bottle of ranch dressing, according to the bottle in my fridge, is 1,920 calories (and is also a nutritional wasteland).

Please find someone to share this with, don't eat it all yourself.

I typical do share some of it but I mainly keep the rest around to eat over the course of a few days.

Also, Dressing of any kind helps bring out the nutritional advantage of fresh veggies.

EDIT: Also, one whole 12oz box of bowtie pasta.

So essentially you're fast-pickling the veggies.
