For those who don't know, Blur is an arcade racer by the makers of Project Gotham Racing. It has weapons, a perk system aka Call of Duty, level ups that unlock perks and new cars and has an emphasis on arcadey racing as opposed to sim realism. The beta version is now available for anyone with a 360 and a redemption code to download (game is 360 only for the time being). Head to
http://www.blurgame.com/ and check out one of the sites listed to get a redemption code to use to sign up and get a code for the beta (I got mine from Gamespot). The beta also comes with a 48-hour Live trial code which will be emailed to you.
So anyway, I've gotten to rank 6 or 7 so far. It's a decent arcade racer, the items aren't Mario Kart infuriating and there's a neat weapon select system that lets you stock up to 3 weapons and use them as you see fit, with some weapons also having alt-fire modes. I think the beta has ranks capped to 10 but the full game supposedly has a lot more ranks. Tracks are generally wide so getting through opponents isn't much of a problem. It also has 20-player races, but you'll be very lucky if you get a full 20-person race.
I sugges trying it out if you're jonesing for an arcade racer which won't send your blood pressure through the roof, like Mario Kart would.
