Did anyone else ever notice its logo looks like an eye? And an android eye at that? Because, man, it just strikes me as a bit Big Brother.

I could totally imagine that thing forcing you to go through a puzzle parcour/deathtrap or perhaps refusing to open the pod bay doors.

Keep in mind that it grew from that very fox and fails to give back to its parent. So there's that.

I could swear that they've kept the browser open. So people can upgrade it however they want.

Perhaps they have, but my last understanding was that they retain control over closed portions of the project and don't necessarily contribute what they see as improvements back to Mozilla's development teams. Though if one looks at Chrome as more a fork than a child that makes sense and isn't really a bad thing.
