So, I built a pocketwatch recently, and it was fun.
I want to do more such building, and am looking for retailers of both watch parts, and watch housings, but I can't find anything that's not crazy antique things for like $100-5000. Anyone able to help?

So when you say built, are you talking about switching out the housing like this watch? Or did you get your hands on some watch parts & build everything from the ground up?
If your looking for used stuff on the cheap, maybe something like this travel watch, that is pocket watch sized, but no gold case. You might want to expand your search to wristwatches, I've seen some with pretty big faces, that could be retro fitted as a pocket watch. I don't suppose you have access to a Makerbot, I don't think it'd be precise enough to make watch parts, but maybe the housing, at least.

I dunno how deep you're planning on going with this, but you might want to start learning about gear ratios. :I

I live with a bunch of robotics/engineering majors, so things that I don't know, they should. Right now, I'm working with preconstructed movements, so I don't have to worry about getting the gears all ratio'd up.
