Seil "So I Have A Problem" or "Post Your Collections Here!"

A while back, I did a collections thread that I'm too lazy to find because I just typed a whole lot. Here's the thing - my older brother is a Producer/Director of a few indie projects in TO, living my dad's dream. I grew up (I think) with a better understanding of film than many people I know personally.

I think it's because of that, that I own about 500 movies. Five hundred, ranging from VHS to Blu-Ray. I don't know if that's a lot. It seems like a lot. Feel free to ridicule me for my film taste, as well as posting your own spiraling descents into madne collections!

I prefer to collect tv shows rather than movies myself, or at least I did when I had the money to go out and buy 2-3 boxsets every few weeks. Now I mostly just stream them from the net. I've posted pics here before of the rather immense collection I have in my room, the majority of which is Stargate. All of it. Closely follwed by Buffy/Angel, then Lost, then Doctor Who/Torchwood (up to the end of Tennant, not including Miracle Day), Alias, Prison Break, Dead Zone, Dark Angel.

My Fringe collection only goes up to season 2 though, as does Sanctuary, and Futurama ends with the Wild Green Yonder (I still need to watch the latest 2 seasons).

I endevour to one day find a full series boxset of Farscape for a reasonable price.

Oh Seil, that's not a problem. You're a babe in the woods.

650 Blu-rays. 343 DVDs. (According to my collection tracker anyway.)

When we moved out of the house, I boxed up all of our Betamax and VHS tapes, and they're currently sitting in a storage unit, so who knows what that number is like, but it's probably huge. There are a lot of boxes.

Now comics, I have 400 of those...

Ooooh hundreds of DVDs. My store will buy those for a whooping $0.50 each!

My Blu-Ray collection has grown nicely over the past three years, but I don't go out of my to collect, I just grab good deals at work when they come. Getting close to 200 Blu-rays, and almost need a new shelf for them. But, I have paid around $300 for that entire collection.

My RPG handbook collection is not too bad: D&D 3E (most of it), d20 Modern (all of it), D&D 4E (core rulebooks), Pathfinder (most core rulebooks, except Race, GM, Equipment), Mutants and Masterminds 3rd Edition, All Flesh Must Be Eaten, Victoriana 2e.

I just recently found out how much ludicrously cheaper RPG books are on Amazon vs. comic book stores. The latter can all go out of business now for all I care.

I collect anything and everything.

I have now collected about 3000ish Anime DVD's, 700 to 800 Movie DVD's, 350 movie Blu-rays.

Then I got probably between 1000 to 1500 physical copies of video games.

Probably about 300 Digital Video games.

I'm not even sure how many comics I have, but its a crapload. Not even sure I can count that high since I was collecting them since I was about 6 or 7.

Then books and RPG handooks and the likes.

Considering that all the walls in my room have Gundam Model Kits in them and i have somewhat like 20 boxes on my backlog i would say i have a decent collection.

I also have my "Pirate's box" which consistes of a 2.5TB external HDD filled with Anime that i can't A) legally find to buy here or B) find it licensed here. and a 3TB external HDD with Movies and Series that is my ultimate goal to have every single one converted to a physical full legit copy covering the wall of my living room. Some is harder than others (a LOT of old movies or rare movies too) but it is something i 100% want to do. I'll still keep the digital copies for ease of use, but i want that legit wall. A lot i have on Netflix to watch, but that's also for when i want to watch something on the road, or in a travel or in bed or some such. i'll totally get it done though... my obsession with this stuff simply won't let me quit.

It's only a problem if you paid 20 dollars for each of them.

I tend to only buy DVDs/Blu-Ray at full price when I know I will watch them several times, unlike some of my relatives who have spent thousands of dollars not only on movies they have only watched once, but didn't even like. READ SOME REVIEWS PEOPLE
