Onimusha 4

Holy...
I really thought that 3 would be the end of it, but apparently Capcom has been sufficiently moved by the hearts and wallets of it's loyal fans and are now producing a fourth game in the series.
Gimme a sec to get it... though really, since you are reading this after I already got it, its instant for you... jerks

Anyway, These guys confirm that it is actually an Onimusha game as well as the name of this one: http://ps2.ign.com/articles/606/606204p1.html

and this page has three magazine scans:

I really want to talk about this, but I should probably wait until someone responds huh?

This is news I would squee over, if I hadn't lost my squeeblex in that nunchuck accident... I still get phantom feeling...

Wow I loved Onimusha 1 and 3, personally I thought they would have just stayed with it ending after 3, because I believe Hideyoshi (sp?) eventually conquered all of Japan in history.

However while reading those articles I weeped when they said new hero.

I mean does anyone remember Jubei in Onimusha 2, he was just pathetic and proof that it was better off with just Samonouske, (now Jacque rocked, but he benefited from having Samonouske at his side.) I mean I thought Capcom had learned from Onimusha 2, since they pretty much wrote out everything that happened in 2, when they made 3. I know they said Jubei defeated Nobunagra yet he came back again, but pretty much you could play 1 then 3 without missing a beat.

After looking at those magazine scans though, new hope arises. As long as they don't give this character a whiney dumb personality like Jubei (if you couldn't tell, I hate Jubei Yagyu, Onimusha 2 would've been better if it had starred Jacque.) Their may be hope with this new character since he doesn't look like a failed attempt to copy Samonouskae (like Jubei, really Jubei was Samonouskae with an afro,) and has much potential to be the next Badass member of the Oni clan.

Yeah, the afro was kinda weak. I think the part I liked most about Onimusha2 were the side characters. And if the scans show anything, we will have sidekicks up the wazoo.

So, what do you think the deal with the new hero is? Notice the lack of gauntlet? Plus, the only time he is seen holding the red sword is on the pic where he is an Onimusha.

Gah! Can't wait for releases...

Excellent, this was one of the first games I picked up for my PS2 (number one that is). Onimusha 3 rocked, I really can not remember the last time I enjoyed a game that much. Hopefully the new character is not another Jubei, that was a train wreck although the game was alright.
