So, if you follow gaming you probably heard of this spiritual sequel to Planescape Torment, which is in the same lineage of Baldur's Gate, however, was not a commercial success back in its time... Now not only is this game back, but its back with an vengeance. 3 days in and not only it blew the lid off the 900k goal for green lighting the project, but they are about to reach the 2.5 million stretch goals mark. And there are still 27 days to go... The game will be released on Steam, and linux and Mac and Windows, and right now you can pick it up early for as low as 25 bucks (will probably release by no less than 35 i wager...) So, who is aboard this train? Cause, i just jumped in... i skipped Baldur's Gate enhanced (and apparently it was not a bad choice doing so) but this? Well, for as much as i would like to jump into one of these Kickstart bandwaggons, this one seems to be as good as it gets for my tastes in gaming! So, come december 2014, i'll have Torment Tides ready for me on steam!! Their stretch goals really focus on the writing and expanding the lore and story of the world, the only real upgrade to the game was a couple more itens, pets and the music now has orchestral pieces to it. New maps have been added, and for a game that promisses to change as you play it in many ways, they are really promission some rich in depth storytelling here... the game engine is nothing too overwhelming, so i'm not worried about it... gameplay too. So, seeing as this thing is bloating up to impressive proportions, i think that it just might be a good deal for fans of old style RPG's like these to jump in now while the entrance fee is low... their team working on the game has some serious pedigree to it, and if the extra cash they got in keep on flowing like this, we just might have one beast of an RPG for 2014... |

If this and some of the other Kickstarter RPGs turn out well, 2014 will be an amazing year. This, Project Eternity, and Wasteland 2? Yes please.

I missed Wasteland 2 as I did not know about Kickstarter when their campaign ran. So I grabbed the Double Game Package pledge for Torment. Woo!
I already don't have enough free time to play the mainstream games that come out. Now in 2013/14 I have to deal with Torment, Wasteland 2, Project Eternity, GODUS, Planetary Annihilation, Star Citizen, Limit Theory, Sir You Are Being Hunted... Ugh. |

If they reach 3million (possible...) they are nearly doubling from 6 to 11 the number of "legacies" you can have in the game.
Sincem legacies are somewhat like "path trees" that unlock visual changes, new powers, and new story branches, this means the replay value of this game nearly doubles... Also, one more companion for a total of 7 so far. this game is getting quite ambitious |
