I am looking all over for a video game commercial my grandmother did.
See, my grandma passed away two years ago and it wrecked my dad at the time. He got better, but he regretted not having a picture of her in her later years. Now, my grandma was an actress, and she did a commercial for a football game sometime in the mid 90s to early 2000s. All I know is she's playing a bartender. I'm looking as hard as I can but my google fu is lacking, so I am asking y'all for help and optional mockery.

Do you have anything more to go on? That's one hell of a lot of potential commercials to get through, and anything would be of help. Do you know what teams might have been involved, or what the commercial was selling? Was this something on ABC, NBC, CBS or Fox? Heck, even her age at the time of the commercial might be helpful.
Name would be of great help, but not sure if you feel comfortable sharing that. And have you tried IMDb? I don't know if it keeps good track of commercials, but as she was an actress maybe you could find her under something else? Really, what you've given us isn't nearly enough to do anything. SWB

Tecmo, Madden and Joe Montana are the only early 90's games I know of.

Her name is Sylvia Epstein, she's not on IMDB, and talking to someone else the only other detail I can give you is the football team is in the bar with her. They weren't 100% sure it was a video game.
Believe me this was a lot easier than the Spanish/Portuguese music video she made where she played a gypsy fortune teller. Never could find that one, even after 3 months of searching.

You might want to try going the traditional routes as well. Such as contacting her high school/College, and if you could find the talent agency she worked with, you might be able to get great access. While the internet is a great tool, there is no guarantee a video of your Grandmother is even on-line. Not every commercial is loaded, and ones that pre-date YouTube tend to only be the really famous.
I'm just saying, don't count on us finding you your video, try going down alternative routes. SWB

Do you have any details that you could give about her in that commercial or about her visually that would help spot her? Or maybe for what system the game was for?
I would start at Gamespot and Gamefaqs. They have huge lists of games and if you could isolate all potential titles and have at least a starting ground. I mean, you say Late 90's early 00's. That could put us in there between 1995 and 2005. That's 10 years worth of video game ads and 10 versions of Madden just to start... |

I found an obituary for someone named Sylvia Epstein and a 1939 Indianapolis yearbook with someone named Sylvia Epstein in it.
I could use a little more to go on, 'cause right now I'm looking for something with an elderly woman playing a bartender. Do you know the football team, what year, whether or not it was for a video game, what your grandmother would look like in the ad? This one has an older woman in it, but I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for. |

Football team, female bartender? Reminds me of a (I believe) German commercial for Heinz Ketchup I once saw.

Honestly I don't, I know she wasn't born in 1939. Epstein is her married name, so it wouldn't be that. I'm currently waiting from EA and Tecmo (the makers of the games you told me about active at that point) to get back to me to see who they employed to make the ads, who I'd call to figure out if she worked for them. That'd get me an answer.
Not it, Seil.
