Default Let's talk about awesome movies
Haven't had a favourites movies type thread in a while ( I think) and I just watched an awesome movie so thought I would start one- have at it with your favourites.

My current favourite (it changes all the time) is El Topo. It's kind of like if you took a religious epic, set it as a western then took some acid and filmed it. Not so much a movie as an experience. It's less pretentious than most arthouse films and is accessible to pretty much everyone as it's really a set of scenes tied together by emotional ties- it is more emotional than cerebral. I don't even remember most of it- a bit hypnotic in quality.

Aliens and Terminator 2 are my all time favourite movies (the directors cut versions, obviously). Watched them both so many times I could probably quote the entire way through. Never gotten bored with them either.

Black Dynamite is honestly the best comedy I have seen all year. I mean, "You done fucked up now, Fiendish Docter Wu!" alone. Trailer

Also, I got a hold of the Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack recently, so that's been on my mind quite a bit. Something about the whole thing just comes together so well, and the songs are so damn catchy. My friends are too weirded out by Frank N. Furter to watch the whole thing though.

My favorite movie?

I'm gonna have to say anything by Hayao Miyazaki or Pixar, all of their movies are awesome and I can watch 'em over and over again.

Some runners-up include Die Hard, MASH, Dark Knight, Triplets of Belleville, Labyrinth, and the Princess Bride.
