They say nothing in nature is perfectly symmetric. But how about your eyelid coordination? Which eye do you close first when you blink? Or do you close both at the exact same time? How could that be possible?
I've spent about 30 minutes trying to figure it out. Now you try. Also, what's the deal with ATM lines? They always go to the right of the machine. This is true in every part of the world. (I think.) If you're alone behind someone using an ATM, take the opportunity to form a line to the left of him or her. I guarantee they'll be freaked out. Especially if there's two or more of you so it looks like a proper line.

But such a social experiment will be annoying because at least ten people will ask if you're in the line for the ATM.
...For psuedo-science! |

I guess it's a cultural thing. Where I live, there are many times of the day when you'd never see ten people in less than an hour. Often there's just one or even none using an ATM in the center of town. Well, late at night anyway.
Hypothesis: Social experiments should always be conducted around 3-5 am. It's more fun that way.

If you can find enough people awake at 3 AM.

The three o'clock people are rare, but they always have interesting stories to tell. It's a different world then, when the hour is none. Its people seem more true, with their masks unseen in the dark, their souls bare and brittle and brave, all fat and sugar burned away.
Does that make sense at all? Quote:
Furthermore, what happened to the blinking thing? That was supposed to be the main topic. I wants to knows!

I think it probably has something to do with eyelid strength. Most people have one eye that's slightly stronger than the other. For instance, hold your finger up in from of your face in the centre and wink with one eye and then the other. There probably won't be much difference in what you're seeing but there should be a slight difference with one eye, and the one with the change is the 'weaker' eye. For me, my right is my strongest.
It seems however that this doesn't just reflect eye strength but also eyelid strength, since my right eye lid is also stronger than my left. It took me a couple of months of practising before I learned to wink with my left eye. I looked in the mirror and noticed that my left eyelid fell faster than the right, probably because my right eye is stronger and I therefore can lower it slower than the weaker left eye. Or that could just be me... |

It lost a duel with the current non-blinky topic.

Actually nobody uses actual proper money anymore so there is never a queue at ATMs.
We have these splenderous things called Eftpos cards and they are free to use and have no fees and magically transfer money from your account to the shop owners. They are run by the power of good thought such that even roadside stalls hours away from the nearest town can power them. Indeed if you try to pay by cash people will look upon you with wonder and astonishment- "What is this tomfoolery" they will say! " Now I have to carry around this accursed heaviness! A pox on you and your backwards consumer ways!" Though in Scotland we need to use money like savages but we all queue on the left-we drive on the left too- because we are crazy. |
