Well, I'm going to have one anyway....after I build it. It's time to buckle down and begin construction on a weapon for my Steampunk costume. As this will be my first prop creation I have found a good likeness of what I wish my gun to look like when it is finished to use as a model. Baby steps people.
Anyway, a major hurdle of finding parts to create your futuristic/primitive neo-Victorian weapon is of course finding real world analogs to things you would like your device to have. Here's where you come in. I'm not very good yet at looking at something, breaking it down into its component shapes, and then finding things that are similar to use as materials. I'm hoping some of you are better than I. Here's the base weapon: ![]() From Stock to Barrel here's what I see: -The stock parts are wood which can easily be found and carved. The two pieces seem to be connected by some copper piping that resembles a cable splitter but I don't know what it is. -The trigger area is the hardest for me as I do not recognize more of the smaller parts. The pressure gauge will be easy to find as will the electrical tubing that travels the length of the barrel. -The "power pack" on this weapon is interesting. It looks like a decorative tea candle holder that has been attached to some glowing device. I have the perfect candle holder already. I just need to sort out the best way to make the glowing part. I also haven't decided if I want to mount the power pack on the side as shown or try to mount it in the middle of the barrel with the two copper tubes running on the top and bottom of it. -The end of the barrel looks to be three parts: A long candle holder, a bell, and that wire construct that you put around tomatoes to help them grow. I'm pretty sure I can acquire most of that. So, do you see anything I've missed or do you recognize parts that I don't? I'm making my shopping list now so any help you can give would be appreciated. Also, as a bonus: Steampunk Tev. ![]() |

Ok, just so we're clear... you want to replicate the Weapon in the picture or would you run along with that concept to create a brand new weapon?

The copper tubing is just a pair of half, maybe 3/4 inch, Ts that are soldered together.
I'd need to see a closer view of the trigger mechanism to tell you what is in there.

If you can find a green lava lamp, that could work for the "power Pack". Or one of those cone shaped LED glow thingies.

You need a monocole.
Remove monocole for combat.

It has been discussed. The problem is, I don't actually know how to wear one. I think it involves squinting? |

Ah i see!.. well, as an option to work upon check this out
![]() You can find these Rubber band Wooden Guns online and maybe in some shops around, if you get stuck on parts something like that can give you a framework without breaking the theme |
