recommend me some flight sims

I just picked up one of these babies at a garage sale, and I'm looking for a few flight sim games to break them in. So far I've only been using it for Jedi starfighter, which was never a great game to begin with.

I'm a big fan of the more realistic flight sim games, but this stick seems to work better with the arcade ones. Realism can wait until I get the cash to get and mod a steel battalion controller

The X-wing series is a good start. Also Il-2 Sturmavik (I think that's how it's spelled) is a great choise as well.

The last Microsoft one was all right. Flight Sim X Gold I think? IL-2 is probably a better choice over Rise of Flight, but the actual FLYING in Rise of Flight was really neat and VERY real-feeling, even if it kind of frustrates/fails on the actual dogfighting element.

If you're after space flight, The Polynomial just came out on steam. It's an arcade style shooter that isn't of much substance, but it super just to try out just for the demo.

While not a flight sim per se (as in, no worrying about air speed and crashing into the ground and such) Freespace 2 is one of the best games I've ever played, and thanks to the Freespace 2 source code project the game has aged VERY gracefully.
