Marvel vs Capcom 3, Again.

Some of you may or may not have been paying some form of attention to Marvel Vs Capcom 3, the long awaited sequel to one of the most popular fighting games of all time, among both "casual" and "hardcore" sets. For those that haven't been doing so since the last thread, a wealth of new stuff has come out about this game now. For a start, here's the brand new list of dudes who are in this game:

Will we have to unlock these dudes? Probably, if Capcom Japan get their way. Disappointing for me but I know that some of you here love unlocking characters. And the character "clones"? They all play differently from looking at the avaliable video footage, so no need to get too worried.

Anyway, let me give you all a quick refresher on how this actually plays. You pick a team of 3 video game dudes and fight another team of 3. You've got easy air combos, assists, big flashy super moves, lots of movement options and a one-time power-up at your disposal, so use these as best as you can to take out the other guy's team. MVC 3's unique gimmick is the Exchange button, which acts as a launcher and a way to extend air combos. Using this button+a direction in the middle of an air combo tags out to a partner to continue the combo, but if the opponent presses the same combination as you they can stop that combo in its tracks.

As for modes, you've got the standard collection of fighting game modes with some kind of story mode, mostly thanks to Marvel. There's an SF4-esque challenge mode and a "licence card" thingy which allows you to see roughly what your opponent in an online match will play like. http://www.capcom-europe.com/blog/20...per-explosion/

I can't stand unlocking for one reason. It's done so arbitrarily that there's truly no point. Play for X hours to get Gamebreaker guy 1. Throw two air fireballs to get Clone girl costume 3.

Otherwise, the game would be good because it has Deadpool. You can't go wrong with him.

I realize it's not confirmed but he's in there. We all know it.

Actually, we specifically know that he's not. Zero is the MMX representative.

We do know that Megaman Classic will probably be in, though.

Uh yeah, I think Capcom explicitly deconfirmed a few characters, including X and Ghost Rider, for one, along with most of the Darkstalkers cast and Sengoku Basara, off of the top of my head.

It was worse in the Dreamcast MVC2, since you had to buy characters with a points system, points being earned as you played the game. In the Japanese version, you had to go to the arcade and play online to get a few characters, I believe.

Was Green Goblin deconfirmed? And do you think we'll have some DLC? I hope so because I want my gobby and my Breath of Fire characters in the game.

We're having DLC, if you read the OP you'll see two DLC characters there.

ah, thanks, I needed that. As much as I'd love to see it, since I'm a huge BoF fanboy, there is no way it would ever make its way in to a big Vs. game. not popular enough
