So today was the final day of my last Phi Theta Kappa convention at my college before I transfer to the University this fall. For those of you who do not know, Phi Theta Kappa is one of the largest Honor Societies for two-year colleges in the world, and I've been pleased to associate myself with them.
However... Basically, aside from an hour-long business meeting at the end, we gathered to discuss honors projects, eat barbecue, and just hang out together. Which was groovy and all, but I wound up being severely disappointed in that the events of the convention did not culminate into either a massive LARP, DnD Game, or a massive orgy. I mean, what the fuck, right? Everyone knows that nerdy people are sexually-starved, gaming enthusiast deviants. Everyone knows it! It says so, right in the Revenge of the Nerds movie! (So what stereotypes have any of you recently discovered to not quite live up to reputation? Please share your discoveries, as well as where the stereotypes could be found.)
