Anti-LGBTA Oregon Bakery Lies About Fine ROUND 2! READY!?

So, sometime last year the Oregon-based bakery known as Sweet Cakes made news headlines across the country after refusing to bake a cake for a couple because they were lesbians, an act they claimed they were fined for and the right-wing media latched on to as some sort of ridiculous 'gay fascism tax'. Of course they did.

Well, it turns out what they were actually fined for was openly publishing the couples names and home address, resulting in a flood of bigoted harassment for the couple.

Laurel Bowman-Cryer filed the complaint in January 2013, after she and her mother had met with Aaron Klein – who refused them service and quoted an anti-LGBT verse from Leviticus.

She filed her complaint by smartphone, which prevented her from seeing a disclaimer notifying her that her full name and address would be sent to the bakery owners – and Aaron Klein shared that information, along with the complaint, on his personal Facebook page.

Conservative media and anti-LGBT organizations such as the Family Research Council promoted the Kleins as victims of religious discrimination.

Rachel Bowman-Cryer said she and her wife received a steady stream of threats that continued as the Kleins promoted their side of the case in national media appearances.

The bureau found the Kleins liable for the threats made by others against the couple and awarded them to pay “$60,000 in damages to Laurel Bowman-Cryer and $75,000 in damages to Rachel Bowman-Cryer for emotional suffering.”

Okay, as much as I hate homophobes, getting fined 60-75 grand seems a little ridiculous for "emotional damages". Personally I wouldn't grant more than 5,000. I mean, fugg, me and my mom's house got robbed when we were away, the dumb young adults who did it got caught, but we barely got any compensation for the stuff they stole.

Months, I'd actually wager. All this started over a year ago now, and I would bet you cash for gold that they're still getting harassing phone calls and letters at their home to this day.

Most of the people who are for the right to discriminate based on religion (aka Freedom of Religion) cannot fathom anyone doing it to them.

I wonder if there's ever been an instance of a business run by a gay person discriminating against a Christian and if so, what the fallout was.

Haha, I remember picking up a book at Goodwill written by one such person in the 1980s, saying how the toys and TV at the time (He-man, MLP, etc.) were exposing kids to the occult.

And then there was this one 1948 Christopher book. That one was mostly Commies = Evil, but there was one section that complained about gangster films, comics and pulp novels making kids violent, which is odd since I thought there was already censorship on such stuff by 48.
