That was... fitting. Not the epic punch-line-to-end-all-punch-lines, not the epic anticlimax. Not a combination of the two. Just, it seems, the closest 8-bit is ever going to get to "And they lived happily ever after". Which, I think, is just fine.

And I loved the characters in the background. "Akbar's not useless tools". Wonderful.

Thanks, Brian.

I had to tap into my reservoir of 8-bit nerdiness for a lot of this, but I think the whole "Doctor Unne's robe is yellow" thing was my proudestdorkiest moment.

The look of the Light Warriors and stuff I guess is now "8-bit canon" (went over the designs w/ Brian so he could approve 'em) but the minor background characters and stuff weren't in the script and I just tossed them in there as best I could think of them.. Like Akbar and Evil Princess Sara and Lefthandman Gary. So I guess if I fucked 'em up (cos you know how specific sprites are!) blame me

Yes those are freckles. She's Irish! (maybe?)

Black Mage has robes on and he's malnourished, not fat. It's grosser that way.

8-Bit Theater Fin~

Okay, so I haven't been here RIGHT from the start. I only came into the whole web comic story after seeing the first animated 8-Bit Theater.

Then I got hooked. Hell, I nearly failed an exam because I was reading their crazy antics instead of studying!

It's a day that I hoped would never come. But wait, there is still hope.

...after all, there's still Final Fantasy 2 and 3. Both were 8-bit! Brian, thank you for the many, many years of epic lols and alleged drama. It was well worth it. ^^

PS: Please make more. ._.

I agree with Gem. Exactly the way it should go.

It was a fun ride.

At last. I'm not sure if it's due to the art or if it was intended, but the Light Warriors seem less like jerks now.

Now I can re-read the whole thing in the next 10 years.

This was almost exactly what I was hoping for, awesome and thank you.

Love the characters in Matt's style too. Specially Fighter and Black Mage.

"Sects buddies" is going to be something of the heh stories alone. Silly Red Mage and his wording. Looks like that slash stuff will live on beyond 8 bit too.

Overall it was really fitting, I don't know if I was the only one to see it but how for the last panels it was great seeing how everything was more like the first comics. It really does fit perfectly for an ending.

Thanks for the 9 years of an incredible journey with the bumbling four, may many more happen in what universes come from HIKYM and Warbot.

Any finale that doesn't end with all of the main characters stepping forth together into a door of light is bullshit.Ha ha, just kidding, it was a pretty great end. I'm not too familiar with the beginnings of all of the FF games, so which one was the final straw before they descended into bullshit?

But yeah, this was my first webcomic, so thanks for making it one of the best ones.

The last one with the Shadowlord was the main plotline of FFXI (the MMORPG). (Was that what you wanted know?)

Anyway, this is what I wanted to see in an ending, though I didn't see Darko in there anywhere. Great ending to a great comic. It was a wild ride these past umpteen years, but it was worth it, though sad to see it end.
