After giving myself some time off after Evil's Return and Big Bad Wolf Limited, I feel like I'm ready to try to GM another RP.
As per my usual technique, I'll give you guys your choice of which one you want to play. For those of you interesting in seeing my GMing record before deciding if you want to brave a RP done by me, it would be wise to do a search for “How the NPF Saved Christmas”, “Locusts”, "Evil's Return", and "Big Bad Wolf Limited". From On High: As far humanity was concerned, the world was about to end. The few thousand survivors of the race found themselves making their last stand in their final stronghold, the city of Avalon. When all hope seemed lost, a light broke through the gathering darkness. From that light, descended beings of incredible power. Single handedly, these newcomers from the heavens smashed the forces laying siege to the city, and began the counterattack against the Dark. In this RP, you are the beings that descend to save the final bastion of humanity…in fact, other than you skill in battle, descending to save Avalon is the first real memory you have. Are you angels? Gods? Mortals granted amazing powers? You’re not sure yourself…all you know is that the forces that seem bent on the genocide of mankind is your enemy, and that you have the power to wipe them out. This would be a super-powered brawler style. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Paradox:Those who hunt monsters find themselves bound by two opposing rules: 1) On a monster is strong enough to fight a monster. 2) Only a man can kill a monster. For hundreds of years, summoners have used monsters to fight other monsters to the point that the human could go in and finish it off. This has proven to be a dangerous, and less than efficient way to fight the darkness and a stalemate between summoners and monsters who hunt humans has been in place for centuries. However, something happens. In a night of blood, a group of people find that they are more…and less…than human. Beings that can fulfill both of the rules. Humans that are monsters… This idea was inspired by Shin Megami Tensei video game series (more specifically, Digital Devil Saga), and Hellsing. It would be a modern setting with the PCs as the ones who are both human and monster. Generally, the Paradoxes (the human/monsters) will be humans who have suddenly have a monster awake inside them. The humans can control their transformation for the most part, and can do partial transformations, but the more monstrous they become, the less control they have and the more control the monster has. Of course, as time goes on, the PCs will be able to control themselves more. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Oathbound: An RP inspired by the less than popular game Drakengard (what can I say...I liked it). It's your basic fantasy setting (kingdom A vs. Kingdom B) with a few little twists: in the game (eventually...it wouldn't start out like this), the characters will be bound to a dragon, giving them superhuman abilities...but at a price. For the dragon, the cost is having their life bound to that of a much more frail being, for if one of the bound partners die, both die. For the human, the cost is much more...immediate. Voice, sight, beauty, being able to feel pleasure, even the ability to age...all have been lost for the sake of the oath. More often than not, the price is something important to the character. All players would be on the same side (I find PC vs. PC combat to be cumbersome at best). This would (obviously) be a fantasy style RP. While similar to From on High, this one isn't as super-powered, and I'm hoping would be a little more plot driven. I'll take votes until things die down, but the actually RP itself probably won't start until after Christmas. Questions? Comments? Concerns? The burning desire to run me out of the RP forum and make sure I never return? Post it here.

I am reserving a spot on whichever one ens up getting made.
As for my vote I go with Oathbound because I loved Drakengard and Drakengard 2, even if they were the most depressing games ever (plot-wise). Note: I mean I loved the plot, characters, etc. but moments in the game touched me more then any highly recognized RPG moment, I'm looking at you the entirety of Final Fantasy 'touching death moments'. Edit: I apologize for any spelling mistakes, my keyboard is being touchy. Also would we be bound specifically to dragons or could we have other magical creatures as partners. |

I'm quite interested in both of the first two. Last time From On High got mentioned I had an idea for a time manipulator, but I'm now going to use that idea for the Zanak'Xala RP of ABs instead, but I'd still like to have a go in that one.
Also I'd quite like to see how The Paradox turns out too, because it sounds strangely similar to an RP idea I've been having myself, but having never run an RP I don't want it to suck, so maybe this might give me some more inspiration for a later date. If it's either of the first two you decide to run, I'll join.

Early score: From on High:2 Paradox: 3 Oathbound: 1 The Paradox is in the lead...which is somewhat surprising to me since not many people seemed interested in it last time around.

My vote is for From on High.
However count me in if it's either From on High or Paradox. Call me crazy, but dragon related plots never really caught on with me. |

That's just MY theory, though. Speaking of which, you're a jerk for letting BBW die. Also: vote for paradox, though actually joining depends on when the sign-up goes up as well as other factors.

As for the timing of the start, I'm aiming for a day or two after Christmas, at which time I'll probably have some more free time on my hands.

I kinda like the paradox one.
You should do that one. Of course, I'd be interested in any game you run, but I'm voting for The Paradox. >.> <.< Vote: The Paradox But, like, don't lynch The Paradox, okay?

Well, I'm not really a big NPF name, but all of these sound pretty cool. I'd love to be in any of them.
I guess I'd lean more toward the one that's heavier in the magical aspect. So...yeah. This looks fun. Edit: I've only played Drakengard 2 once. So, my knowledge of that one is kinda...limited.

On High sounds interesting, as does Paradox. Put me in for both.
