So here's the thing.
I've got to find anything I can about some roman mosaic which I know nothing of. If there's anyway or some guy fortunate enough to know anything about this, I'd really appreciate if you can provide links or other sources. It's this particular image. I know I'm being vage here, but that's honestly all I got.

It's a pretty distinctive example of a mosaic style I can't remember the name or anythig else about. If you grab a roman mosaic book you'll find something very similar which shouldtell you a lot.
The one thing to know is Roman art is universallygood, Greek universally shit. |

Man, are you trying to start a flame war? You just know all the Greek-mosaic fans around here are gonna be all over your shit for this one.

As in while the hellenistic states loved the shit out of them and theyare traditionally more greek in their tastes, there is no strong mosiac streaks in greek art whereas the Romans wentthrough lotsof different mosiac phases. |

What in particular do you need to find more information on this mosaic for?

History, process, impact in culture, trivia or anything else that is worth saying.

Don't quote me on this but if I had to guess I would say that it probably falls under the category of Byzantine Art (or at least is influenced by it) so you could try and start there? Or look up information about the city it's from, usually art ties in closely to the history of an area.
Also how mosaics are made is pretty straightforward, so you could probably just look up mosaics in general to get a process of how it was done in general.

The image is a stock image on many sites, and is also used as the cover of the book People of the Past: Ancient Roman Children.
Tis all I found about it.

Clearly this mosaic symbolizes the ancient art of duck lassoing, a popular Roman past time.
The river the boy is standing in is rendered in a really shitty two-dimensional way so it was probably created by a guy who was missing an eye. Also the boy is a little kid in it and the Romans probably liked raping little kids, too, so that's probably why this artwork on Roman children was commissioned. Clearly I've been a lot of help to you, feel free to put me in the bibliography. |

Thanks for all the input. I got enough material for my essay and I think it'll turn out pretty good. I've provided the final essay if anyone is interested in reading what I'll submit.
