So, I've been watching the series on History Channel, Ancient Aliens and I was wondering just how many here buy into it or the theories about a possible Ice Age Civilization.
I myself could believe either one due to the anomalies that Archaeologists seem to ignore or try to rationalize in ways that make no sense when you think about it. I think my biggest one is the fact that Engineers today say we can't build the Pyramids in 20 years with our current technology. They also did the math and said in order to do it in 20 years; one would have to quarry, carve, move, and place each of these 2-2.5 ton blocks every 9 seconds...and there are 2.3 million of these Limestone and Granite rocks in the Great Pyramid. Related fact; Granite and Diorite(with Diorite being the harder of the two) are the two hardest rocks on Earth. They actually used Diorite balls to work on Granite in Ancient Egypt. My question is how did they work a rock so hard it takes diamond cutting tools to work into balls and what not? It's these anomalies and more that just make me wonder and I want to see if others see similar things.

Remember when History Channel actually had documentaries about history.
Stuff about World War II, The American Civil War, The Middle Ages, World War II, The Roman Empire, World War II and World War II.

They still have those, they're just on at godforsaken times (like the middle of the night).
Now it's all about the Swamp People (the main appeal of which is to see a guy FUCKING SHOOT AN ALLIGATOR IN THE HEAD WITH A SHOTGUN HOLY SHIT) and the Ice Road Truckers and the fucking Ancient Aliens. What I find absolutely ironic about the fellows on this show are their condescension towards the people who built these various monuments and henges and so on. "You're telling me someone one step removed from a caveman built these things? COME ON." Obviously this shows a distinct lack of knowledge of genetics (since these people were Homo Sapiens just like you and me), but it also ironic because they seem to regard these people as primitive, superstitious folk incapable of taking a rock and banging it on another rock to carve a shape out of it, and then proceed to talk about how they believe in leylines and magnetic power points and aliens and all that other stupid shit. They also make extraordinary leaps in logic which make no sense--for example, one fellow talked about how this one monument was made out of granite, and nowadays we use diamond drills to cut through granite, and so it's actually impossible for them to have built this monument because I guess nobody ever built anything out of granite ever in history without the aid of diamond-cutting tools, I guess. So, aliens. I really almost busted a gut when I saw they had actually gotten the number one fucktard himself, Erich von Daniken on there to spew some hilarious shit. Since as well all know from the last topic on this subject of Smarty's there are no aliens, everything was done by the fucking Aryans, terrestrial as hell. DUH.

Okay. I think you all are thinking the wrong things about the show. Almost everyone I've seen on that show says this is a theory and a few state that they would happily admit they were wrong. Even Erich himself says that he'd be the first to admit he was wrong. All he wants is the theory explored and not laughed at or tossed out on it's ear like some of you seem to be doing.
What the theory states is that there are anomalies in the historical record. Now, do I believe aliens came to our ancestors? Possibly. I am not arguing that our Ancestors were idiots nor does anyone on that show. They just want to know about what is missing from the historical record of our species...which there is a HELL of a lot of it. There is also a hell of a lot of anomalies. I got a wonderful example of one such set of anomalies straight from Bolivia. First is Tiahanaco(Tiwanaku), which is the more famous of the two sites in question. Now, conventional Archealogy states these were put up somewhere aroudn 1500 BCE to 300 CE (Before Common Era/Common Era) by a culture with no written language at all. This is the same school of thought that also states that a written language is a necessity for any civilization to become dominant...so who is calling who's ancestors stupid as well? But that isn't the strange thing. The strange thing is a nearby site that is similar called Pumapunku. This is similar in many ways to Tiwanaku except that many of the stone platforms and such are made from Diorite. Which as I said before, requires Diamond tools to cut to any precision. Yet they are cut to a precision that I heard a MODERN Stonemason who works on this and similar rocks for over a quarter century say he couldn't even get the precision found in some of the stone work at either site. This guy could spend a lifetime and not even get anywhere close to edges sharp enough to to be like razors on skin. Aliens? Maybe. Maybe not. These are the anomalies that need to be looked at and figured out to get answers from. I do believe it is more likely there was a Ice Age Civilization or Civilizations that could be the basis for many of the Atlantis-type myths we got as well as similarities between the types of buildings and legends about Floods and other things. But I bet you would all laugh at that as well. All I say is keep an open mind and look at the Zebras as well as the Horses in the stable.
