An iPod touch is the same as an iPhone, sans phone? If so, I'd certainly recommend at least one of the Angry Birds games. Pandora should be free & is a great free radio service. I like the G4 app for occasional news updates.
Really haven't got much beyond that I'd recommend. I have other stuff, but it's either for the iPad or I regret buying it.

ah yes, this is something I learned when I bought it, only differance between an ipod touch and an iphone is the iphone is also a phone. I cant make calls and need to be in a wireless hotspot, besides that they are exactly the same right down to the operating system. So all the apps and games for iphone will work

I know a lot of folks play that Angry Birds.
My group of friends are engaged in various Scrabble matches via Words With Friends, an app that is available both for iPhone OS and Android and lets folks with either client play each other. I have an Android phone, so I can't really comment on other games much. I know there's a decent Trivial Pursuit game floating around, and a close friend of mine has a great battleship game on his iPhone. I don't recall its name, but you can select special powers in one game mode (like a larger AoE strike, a shield for your ships, etc.) and we were passing the phone back and forth for turns. Mostly, though, if I want mobile games I use my DS. The Scrabble game is the only one I've kept installed on my phone beyond a Bejewled clone.

well, yes and no. the latest iPhone and Ipod Touch look fairly different, but the guts are more or less the same, with a few things (3g antenna, etc) removed.

![]() ![]() Sorry, first thing that came to mind. But yeah, definitely get Words With Friends if Scrabble is your thing (if any of your friends have Androids, you can play with them as well on the same system..which I now see synk already mentioned...). I like the daily Sudoku app as well.

skype app and in Wifi areas you can turn your not phone into a web phone.
Angry birds has a cult following for a good reason. Dragon dictation is great if you want to write up something fast and send it off. The Weather channel is great as its both free and allows you to radar your suroundings. also the Free Wifi database is a must.

Skype is indeed pretty rad for devices that technically shouldn't be phones, and it's pretty rad regardless. Android automatically integrates with Google accounts for calendars and email, but I know there are apps for that on the iPhone OS. What's more if you actually have Macintosh systems you can sync your Mail and iCal info out of the box. Otherwise there should be apps for that. I have a co-worker and friend who has a regular cellular phone but supplements it with an iPod Touch upon which he syncs his mail and calendar events -- almost anyone's house he's at has wireless (provided they give him access to it) as do our workplaces and a lot of downtown areas. An iPod Touch can actually work out pretty well as an easy, portable interface to your mail, schedule(s), and social networks. I guess none of that mentioned actual apps, though, so :/ I highly recommend things like Google's Places/their Maps apps in general, as they use your device's location to generate a list of nearby stuff or provide navigation. You can also play around with Latitude to share location with friends and contacts. You won't use it every day, but it's neat. A mobile office app/pdf reader/book reader suite is pretty great, in my opinion. I never expect to or want to edit or write a document on my phone, but being able to read them on the fly is awesome. The added bonus of being able to read a book on it is neat, though small screens aren't the best for it.

IIRC, Ghost Trick and Phoenix Wright are available for the iPod touch and iPhone. Get them and send your iPod to me
