That's my sentiment while playing Batman: Arkham City.
Don't get me wrong, it's fucking awesome. I honestly do get to feel like Batman, i'm kicking all kinds of asses, dominating 10 tugs at once, and when i get hit it honestly feels like my fault not the game's. The story seems fun, it's wide, expansive, well paced... Batman could give Ezio a run for his money any day of the week.... The one nagging thing on the back of my head (aside from Catwoman being all sassy with herself when there is noone around...) is that Batman keeps calling Alfred, updating him on the situation and every time he does it i'm like "Oh yeah, here comes a new Batgadget or a insightful tip" but all i get is Alfred goind "Well get to it then..." or "Oh goodness, oh my, oh dear you could die... sooo tragic" it's odd... |

These Batman games strike me as very unique for one reason: the game is more immersive on low difficulties. Sure, you can try and be a boss and play through it on the super hard modes. Heck, maybe you sunk in enough time to swim through them.
But way I see it, you're not Batman unless you're kicking all kinds of ass. And that's certainly harder to do on the harder difficulties. The harder it is, the less I feel like Batman. So it's actually one of the few games I dial down immediately. As for gameplay, I haven't gotten around to Arkham City yet. I am working through Asylum for a second time. |

It's been a while since I played Asylum, but I don't think you hear from Alfred at all. Like, if you do it's very brief and I don't remember it. Most of your over-the-(bat)comm correspondence is done with Oracle (who I think was Batgirl until she was stuck in a wheelchair?)

Yeah, it was Oracle only in Asylum.
I completed it on normal mode the other week, will probably do a new game+ next year. Only thing I couldn't find was Scarecrow's boat. Anyone know where that was? The lack of counter icons in new game+ will make things extra tough. And apparently Mr. Freeze becomes even better if you don't cheat, since you have to use -all- techniques on him.

Alfred is and will always be a Jackass but he is the only person that can really talk down to Batman so its cool. It fits his comicbook persona to a T
Also Scarecrow's boat is in between GPD and Joker's joint. you have to land on the boat and pull out your password thing to get in.
