So... Metal Gear Rising .
I just want to say that it's really awesome to jump in onto steam and my update page is just full of you guys posting sick screenshots of the game... How is your experience going so far? Sick or super sick? No, really... it took me 15 minutes in to call this game goddamn awesome. |

I'm waiting for the "better than consoles" optimization mod.

its smooth like butter and the zandatsu can be tuned in the options menu to allow for MORE cutting than on the console!
I'm getting 60FPS sharp on top settings with zero dips. Also, when you get it... Konami Code on the start screen. Specially for those who already played on the console. |

Karesh bought it and I have tried playing it though the family sharing thing, but this is officially the oddest issue I have had with any game. At first no matter what happened, on high or low, 1080p or 720p, windowed or full screen, it ran like total ass. To make it sting harder, people with way worst builds then me were getting 60fps all the damn time on max. So I played it a bit and every time things got the most intense in boss fights and such suddenly I went up to 60 fps. My game is localized in some bizzaro world where the less stuff on screen it is the worst it runs, and when I am cutting things into 10000 parts I get 60 fps, something is fishy as fuck.

I would have to ask what is your build but let me take a crack at it.
All boss fights in this game happen in Enclosed arenas. There is a LOT of stuff happening in all of them, but in overall, it all happen in a more confined space so it evens on processing ( Laymen logic at work here) The thing is... outside of that, you have big open maps... which should be taxing your CPU. Maybe that's the reason for the slowdown? Did you check the VR missions? They happen in very small maps with almost no texture to them, if the same slowdown happend there, i would say that is probably it... From what DxTory is telling me, i'm getting solid 30fps in all cutscenes and solid 60fps on Gameplay. It only dips below 60fps when i start to push the zandatsu beyond the 500 cuts mark... |

GTX 660
Core i5-2400 @ 3.1Ghz 12 GB RAM Windows 7 I have played way more taxing games just fine, but this basically plays in slow motion even in the VR missions. Me and one guy in a nearly texture-less room is a slideshow, but jumping on missiles to get to a Metal Gear is 60 fps (so was running down that building). And as I said before there is absolutely no difference when I alter the settings, 1080p full screen with everything on high runs exactly the same as 800x600 in a window with everything on low. |

Are there V-sync settings available to toggle? Since that's a feature to deal with the graphics generating frames faster than can be optimally displayed, it may explain the reverse performance.
Otherwise my other guess would be an issue with your drivers. See if other people with the same video card and driver share that issue, otherwise I'm not really sure. There should be a mod out to fix it eventually, which is probably the only option since this is Konami we're talking about (the king of update support). |

I forced vsync on and off using nvidia control panel before (since there is actually no option for it) and as usual 0 change. I also never saw anyone else with a 660 have issues, I even updated the driver to one that is only 2 days old and still have 0 changes.

It's me. I cursed Ramary's computer so it cannot play REVENGEANCE properly because he went "neiner" at me for not getting the game free like he did.

I'm sort of amazed my laptop was able to run the game. Although, with everything on low I'm running it at no more than 30fps, and if I cut things into more than 20-30 pieces then I hit 10-15fps. Still, it was playable, and that's all I needed.
But anyway, the real reason I'm posting here is a bit of a warning, 'cause I found a pain in the ass bug in the final boss fight (which apparently is on their known issue list). Normally, on the console versions, when you slice up the debris that Armstrong throws at you, they drop health packs. However, in the PC version, that doesn't happen, which can make the fight more difficult than it should be. Spoiler free warning: try to conserve your nanopaste more than usual before, and during, the final boss fight.
