So I've been getting everything ready for my Care Aide course coming up, and I've decided that after I complete that, get my certificate, that I want to move to Ireland. It sounds like a pretty cool place to live.
The thing is that I've never moved to a different country before. I've got lots of questions, among them "Where am I going to live?" and "Am I going to meet nice, friendly people?" But the major questions that I've got (and have been having trouble answering) are as follows: 1) Will my Canadian Care Aide certification transfer over, or will I need to be schooled in Ireland? Apparently, I need FETAC Level 5, but I'm not sure if my Canadian certification will be equivalent. 2) What kind of Green Card or Visa will I need to work in Ireland? I don't know how much I'll be earning, or where I'll be working. 3) Do I need to do anything special to reside in Ireland? There are specific requirement for citizenship, but it looks like I can just up and move tomorrow. 4) Is there anything else I need? I don't know. |

![]() All I could really recommend is do your research and make preparations. Possibly try to take a temporary trip there if you can afford it, so that you can get an idea of just what it's like to actually be there and possibly make friends and figure out potential living/work situations before you actually commit. |
