Not a fan of the Dual Shock series controllers I see. Anyway it really comes down to what genre you like, what types of games interest you.

I might be wrong about this, but I believe PS4 charges for online service now.
Now I only got the xbox1 and wiiU. Honestly I think I got the most use out of the wiiU. The games I just find myself coming back to more. My brother though did get a PS4 and isn't too thrilled. He's a sony fan but says there isn't really anything for him on there

I'm boycotting XBox One, because, although they removed most of their bullshit ingrained DRM, they still TRIED it, and fuck them.
That said, WiiU bugs me because N64 only had a few good games, Gamecube had even less, Wii less yet. . . and I just don't think I want to waste money on the WiiU until I know it has a library of games I actually want in the double digits somewhere. PS4 seems most promising with its auto-updating and generally beefier hardware components (a similar dynamic leading to faster load times made the PS3 the option I went for on pretty much every cross platform game last gen), as far as consoles go, given my anti-Nintendo bias born of two and a half generations of general disappointment. But, to be honest, I haven't touched a console in months. The last console game I really played to completion was Dragon's Dogma. Ni No Kuni was really good but I kinda petered out about half way through (maybe over). With most cross platform games also being released on Steam, the fact that I already have a computer that can run them, and the faster load times and higher graphical settings available on PC, all combined with the actual technical improvements from PS3/360 to PS4/One being pretty minor as far as what we, the players, actually see. . . welp. Just not sure I'll bother with any next gen consoles, until the NEXT next gen, or they get real real cheap.

Look at what you're actually going to play down the road and go with that. If you can realistically expect to play with friends, then the PS4 might be a great option for you, for example. If there are titles you know you will enjoy on the Xbox, such as Titanfall, and that you feel you will revisit (i.e. not just play at first and then be done with it) perhaps that means it's the right choice for you.
I never really felt like I missed out by not having a Gamecube, and owning a Wii ended up being a kind of meh event overall, despite getting a good number of hours in with Smash and Mario Kart games. So while you might be pumped about their exclusives, such as those two series, I don't think I can share that enthusiasm (even though I will want to play MK 8 whenever possible as soon as I find out who has a WiiU here). But that's me -- I also don't feel that handheld gaming is very good, aside from minor distractions when traveling or something, but many people are drawn heavily to the DS and Vita or whatever PS's mobile device is these days. MS dropped the requirement for Gold accounts for various apps and services, such as Netflix, so for non-multiplayer one no longer needs to pay the subscription, perhaps making a decent attempt to counter Sony's free online elements. For me, that's cool, as while most of my friends own Xbox consoles we haven't played together in many months; I let my subscription end and can now enjoy Netflix and similar via the console again if I want. But that's not a sufficient reason to go with one over another -- I feel, anyway, it should be more about the games available and how you like to game. I am currently not planning on purchasing a current console, but if I were I also wouldn't be sure which I would prefer. I would have to take a serious look at what was available exclusively vs. across platforms. I cannot tell from your bullets which of these are a bigger or lesser draw to you than the others.

The reason why i have a PS4 is because it has the exclusives i want... if i were to buy a Xbone i would call it my ''Killer Instinct Machine'' because that is actually the only thing i want to play on it that badly.
PS4 online is very good i dunno if MS fixed this on their end... but you don't have to pay for online to use Online Apps ( Netflix etc ) on PS4. Or play the online Free to Play games ( Warframe and DC Online for example ). If a game comes out on PC, i'll get it on PC because i have a good one now that can play recent games... so i can enjoy that experience and pay LESS for my games... the PS4 is only for exclusives and when i get The Last of Us, Guilty Gear, Final Fantasy 15, Final Fantasy Type 0, Kingdom Hearts 3, Bloodborn, Uncharted 4, Second Son and maybe Driveclub or the next Gran Turismo.... i feel like i'm already set. Specially since that list is just 2014/2015 . The one Multiplatform i'm getting even though i beleive a PC version is coming is MGS 5, but that's because the PC version won't come out until a few years after release ( my own bet, not a rumor. Same treatment as MG Rising ). The other as the Final Fantasy titles. That gives me enough diversity and content that i feel my PS4 purchase was justified. |

Sony or Nintendo over Microsoft: Even though Microsoft eventually backed down, I still don't think you should support a company willing to even consider every Bullshit Policy Microsoft negligently attempted to stuff down gamers' throats.
As for whether you should choose Sony or Nintendo, that pretty much comes down to whether or not you have a gaming-quality PC. With a Gaming-Quality PC: Nintendo's probably your best bet, as the Wii U will have more exclusives that you can't get on your PC. Without a Gaming-Quality PC: Sony's probably your best bet, as the PS4 will have much more content in terms of Indies and multi-platform AAA titles available than the Wii U. I guess another way to put it is: The PS4's going to function better for you if you're looking for a single console that will have everything you want. If you're looking for a single console to carry the load for you, the PS4's the way to go, as it will give you the most diversity in content. On the other hand, if you're looking for a supplementary console that you'll utilize only casually while relying on a PC with Steam to handle most your gaming needs, the Wii U's the better choice.

I fully agree with Snake.
Also, getting Plus - the thing that lets you play your games online on Sony consoles - gives you two games on each of Sony's current platforms ( PS3, PS4, Vita ) per month that stay with you as long as you have a subscription. |

the only reason i don't plus yet is because for just PS4... it is not very well justified yet.
