"PANZER VOR!" or Robin plays WoT 360 Edition

So, last night started up a free 7 day trial available to all X-box 360 owners for World of Tanks 360 Edition (It is F2P but you need an X-Box Live Gold Account which I will probably get). Have to say I am having fun with this game. Mainly did this while I try to get a better laptop to play Star Trek Online on...and inspired by watching Girls und Panzer.

Spent yesterday trying out the various classes I could at T1 and T2. I like Light Tanks (Love my British Cruiser at Tier 2) and Tank Detroyers (T-18 is down right unstoppable when in a good sniping position with a 75mm Howitzer Z equipped and the team can stay working together). Artillery I did not like and I can see why it is hard to do. Working to get the American Medium and Tank Destroyers, British Lights and Mediums, and the German and Soviet Heavies (no Maus...I could not stop worrying if someone saw the battle of that in GuP and decided to try it out).

If I could say I had one gripe...it is the fact that some players seem to think having a mic headset gives them permission to be total *bleep**bleep* morons on said mic. One guy today just did nothing but whistle for the first two minutes of the match I was in. I got blown up during those two minutes and left so no clue if they continued or not.

One of the more memorable matches was last night and I wish I had video for you all of this. Was on Himmeldorf map (an urban combat map so cityscape) and found a nice sniping position. Blind shot a British Cruiser III (not sure if I killed it or not) and was pretty much causing such havoc on the right side center of the map (big plaza around a fountain) that the enemy that was their either decided to leave or try to get me and left their flanks open. This was ringing my front armor like a bell as I was in the T-18 with said 75mm and I have 51mm of frontal armor. Figured I had run out of targets so move on while scanning what I could see when one of the enemy's own tank destroyers rolled up right in front of me...with the whole left flank showing to my gun. I think the poor bastard realized what they did as they tried to turn but I had just finished loading when they started the turn and fired...

...There is a very short list of stuff at T2 that can survive the first penetrating hit of a T-18 75mm Howitzer and that list is even shorter at near to point-blank range. This guy's tank destroyer was not on the list.

Not sure about double posting but figured with a few days past to update...got a 12-month Gold Live Sub for my 360 and a Headset if anyone wants to join me in WoT or not.

...Panzer Vor is a command for "Tank(s) Forward" in German.

The T18 is annoyingly overpowered, and has been for some time. There's several T2 vehicle weapons that simply cannot penetrate it anywhere, from any angle of attack, in any location. It meanwhile, can one-shot the vees carrying them.

Autocannons are pretty much useless at higher tiers, but the existence of this 'tank destroyer', a role that is normally an underarmored ambush killer, makes them pretty bum at tier 1 and 2 as well.

Yep and on the 360 version we are finally getting...the French Tanks.
