Anyone else want to scratch on old RO itch?

So, back in January, I basically had a four-day weekend to myself and thought I'd see what one of my old favorite addictions had to offer now that it's 2015.

I hopped onto Rate My Server and found a homey little 30X rate server that had just started up that week and got to playing. Unfortunately, it was sort of a rocky start because the host that the admin was using broke down a week later, causing a roll-back and the loss of a good chunk of the server population, followed by some drama and the loss of more players, followed by the server limping along until now.

Anyway, long story short...er, the admin has decided to close down and relaunch under a new name on April 24th. I plan on joining up again and wanted to see if any of you still played Ragnarok Online or wanted to get back on the wagon with me.

Honestly, there were some decent people on the server that made socializing fun, and a pretty competitive crowd as well (some with way too high of opinions about their skill level) if you're more interested in crushing your enemies and hearing the lamentations of their porings.

But yeah, anyone else got an itch to scratch?

There have been many a time that I have contemplated scratching that itch - but I have placated it mostly with Tree of Savior. ToS is a game being made by most of the original team behind Ragnarok Online.



Tree of Savior is in closed beta now in Korea, maybe we'll see a CBT for the international version by the end of the year. It has been picked up by Korean Nexon, maybe NA Nexon will also get it, but that usually isn't a good thing.


Also, that guild introduction package is all sorts of broken.

I'll have to look up Tree of the Savior when it finally works its way to a version I can play. It looks really pretty.

Anyway, the new RO Server Forum is up. Looks like they want to cut the tape and let people play on May 15th. Also looks like it's going to be a 40x server (except for MVP and some Boss cards, which are going to stay at 1x).

I actually played RO2 for a while until I got to the level cap. I enjoyed it quite a bit. Right now I'm playing Tera, not a bad mmorpg though it's very reminiscent of RO2 and is a tad easy for me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one looking forward to Tree of Savior! I can't wait for it to come out. The class system looks like it'll be RO on roids.

I've considered getting back into RO, but honestly I've just been there too many times. If you guys do start playing ToS when it comes out, though, create a thread or shoot me a message. I'll definately be on it.

Thinking of getting into RO again, but I'd rather want to try out a higher-rate server with renewal content for something fresher (and one that doesn't demand as much as my time to get myself caught up as much, given that I'm usually quite busy working or juggling other games).

Am considering this one, although I'm not going to be around for a week or so. Family stuff.

I tried Renewal content and wasn't very impressed with it over all.
