Star Wars: A New Roleplay

I'd like to throw my hat into the ring, in regards to interest in the RP. I don't have alot of time, as I am about to take off for a party. New Year's Eve and all. But I would like to play a Droid, if at all possible.

I'm considering jumping in to, but I'd need some time to read over the rules and character creation. If I decide I'm interested, I'll throw up a sheet probably by tomorrow.

To Cabal: I'm all for you being a pilot and such but...

"Ship combat works almost exactly like normal combat, but the pilot and gunner(s) 'wear' the ship. The ship's shields become its DFP, its hull becomes its HP, the pilots pilot skill + RFX + manueverability become its EVA, while the gunner uses the weapon systems with his weapon systems skill like a normal weapon to attack enemy ships. Weapon systems generally receive a boost from a targetting computer, as well."

You might not be able to use Weapon System skill properly, because according to this sort of rule, there have to be two people to do a ship battle, the pilot and the gunner. (I might be able to do that role perhaps if no one else chooses or has ranks.)

I might as well toss the skill then. Our ship doesn't have weapons anyways (Read the wookiepedia article).

I just had a sudden realization. ^^

My Marksman ability could make me pretty useful against potential Jedi/Siths. I mean the only place to shoot a lightsaber is the delicate electronic handle. It's not like I'm going to aim for the blade. (Maybe if I had an INT of -1)

EDIT: Krylo, I know that the lowest DEF for massive armor tends to be 25ish, but what's the high end for massive armor? I mean it gotta be quite quite high to justify it being 20, 000 credit when apparently the highest level heavy armor stands at 20+ for a whole whole lot cheaper (500+). (And this is before considering crafting the items myself which probably has some hefty material requirement.)

The exception is droids. Droids vary in a couple of ways: First off most droids have obedience chips installed in them, which means that while players of meatbags obey the captain out of loyalty or whatever else, droids literally must obey the captain unless they can get someone to remove their obedience chip--or the captain decides they're the type to remove their droids obedience chips for fun. Further, droids are affected by ion blasters and grenades and what not much more harshly than meatbags are. They also require a crew member with "Craft: Robotics" to repair them if they take damage. EDIT: Cabal, some of your skills are too high. Skill level can't exceed the stat level that matches it. Thus the highest we can boost a skill at this time is 5 because 5 is the highest we can boost any single investable stat.

Hey Cabal, shouldn't you take that Capital Ship ability? In case we ever have the oppurtunity, it'd be nice to have someone who knows how to fly one.

You are correct and my skills have been adjusted. Made myself more of a tool belt character. Might change those skills more later. Edit: Which I did so I can drive you suckers around when we are on a planet.

I thought about it, but I figured we would get another ability point before we encountered one.

Well, they move the blade to parry, so I imagine you'd still have to hit.

That said, if you're worried about Jedi or Sith, get a Tenloss Disruptor Rifle (Illegal everywhere! ) or Golan Arms Flechette Launcher. (Me? I'm on the lookout for a Phrik/Mandalorian/Cortosis Sword.)

Both are virtually impossible to block properly without other techniques.

Not me. No knowledge ranks on anything and 1 charisma is going to make me a sucky captain. At best, I would be a damn good lancer type, if we followed TVtrope vocab.
