Hey all! As I said a while back, I'm engaged, and I'm trying to think up songs to play at the wedding reception. I'd love to have a good mix of songs, so I'm making this thread as a sort of 'suggestions welcome' kind of thing. I'll keep a list of songs that I agree with / songs I have in use already on this post. Thanks in advance guys.
![]() Songs being used: Kiss Me - Sixpence None the Richer Bubbly - Colbie Caillat The Bird and the Worm - Owl City Such Great Heights - Postal Service Wonderwall - Oasis I'm Yours - Jason Mraz Lucky - Jason Mraz/Colbie Caillat Back at One - Brian McKnight Love Grows - Nobou Uematsu (As performed by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra)

Extra Mile by Laura Pausini. It's going to be the first dance at my wedding, if I have my way.
If you want to try something a little interesting- A take on Only Girl, by Mike Tompkins. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtBeobpTcmk - It's been rewritten to be A man singing to a woman, and this man has a gorgeous voice. It might be a little bit too upbeat, but you never know. If you've got a sense of humor and it won't ruin the mood? Great Big Sea - Hit the ground and run; Or Baby got Back by Jonathan Coulton. :P Both are fantastic. Robbie Williams - Angels; and Feel. Two fantastic songs by a very sensual musician, when he wants to be. Ayo Hirano - Lost My Music. Another sweet little romantic song from Haruhi Suzumiya. There's a lack of Superchick on that list, and we can both agree that needs fixing. Blessid Union of Souls - Hey Leonardo (She likes me for me) : No justifaction on that one. I think that's enough for one post. :P Tell me if you want me to add youtube links for you! |

I saw Colbie Caillat and Jason Mraz on the list, but no sign of their duet.
Lucky Jason Mraz/Colbie Caillat. Beautiful As You All 4 One. The Only One For Me Brian McKnight. Here And Now The smoothest singer who ever lived, Luther Vandross. If any of those strike what you're looking for, let me know. I'm sure I can find others.

I save a little money every month so that the Protomen could come play my wedding.
I'm...I'm really not the guy to go to about this.

I have a signature. It's a really cool one, too. It's so awesome, you'd pull your eyes out and punch your mother. Sadly, these rules state that my signature is just too darned big. Too much awesome for such a small space. Oh well. You can still punch your mother...if you want... Fifth and Krylo made me do it. http://www.animecubed.com/billy/user...sigs/60266.jpg Be the Ultimate Ninja! Play Billy Vs. SNAKEMAN today! |

I'm just going to suggest, in place of the standard old Nazi man Wagner's worn out bridal chorus, play Battle Without Honor or Humanity.
Hopefully it'll be ironic. Also, celebrities Neil Gaiman and Amanda "Fucking" Palmer recently got married to the tones of Magnetic Field's original Book of Love. Don't repeat that mistake. Peter Gabriel's cover is roughly 6.4 times better.

Bust a Move by Young MC
Baby Got Back by Sir Mix-a-lot Ridin' by Chamillionaire Can't Stop Partyin' by Weezer I kid. Mostly. One of the weddings I was at this summer featured the bride and groom having their first dance to some country shit, then busting out with "If You Want Me To" by Weezer. They then called up all the Groomsmen for Bust A Move. It was appropriately funny and epic.
