WTF For those of you looking for work around Kentucky and Las vegas

Just thought this was weird and cooky enough to merit a shout out since some of you seem to be looking for work and places to live and such...

I just learned about it due to a Interview the CEO did on the Colbert Report yesterday, so i would imagine it will be booming with applications, but the idea itself is very... unique i would say.

My fiance's friend's wife works at Zappos, so I heard about this awhile ago. It looks like a fun place to work but the unskilled workers (warehouse, customer service) start off at lower salaries. Better than minimum wage, though.

As the to the business model, it just seems like common sense to me. I've worked at places with good and bad management. Effective managers didn't have to micromanage their employees because they were respectful, friendly and clear with their expectations. People who couldn't handle doing any work got fired without a second thought. The employees who stayed didn't mind the customer service aspects because they were generally content and they took initiative on their own.

However, the ineffective managers who were always stressed, whining, yelling, complaining, and generally being irritating couldn't keep any employees, and the ones they did keep were always in a shitty mood. Customers were treated like shit. I quit that place as soon as I found another job.

TL;DR You have to compensate your employees with a little more than just money if you want them to perform well. Except "compensate" just means "treat them like human beings and not robots."
