NPF, it's time to share your recipes! What are you cooking right now? What tips do you have? Pictures of delicious food? Show them to me! IT'S TIME TO EAT!
I will start off with a ridiculously easy and extremely tasty fruit salad: <3 LOVE BERRY SALAD <3 ![]() Ingredients (I do not have measurements for them, just trust your eyes) Equal parts of: strawberries, quartered blueberries cherries, pitted and sliced in half mint, chiffonade baby spinach parsley, chopped fennel bulb, sliced thinly A generous sprinkle of: pepitas (pumpkin seeds) hemp seeds chocolate or carob chips A couple tablespoons of HSH No Oil Balsamic Dressing (found at whole foods), or balsamic vinegar Method: Wash and dry all the vegetables and herbs except mint (if it’s relatively clean.) Combine all the fruit in a large mixing bowl, then add the herbs, then the remaining ingredients. Best consumed within three days. It's very flavourful and refreshing. Plus, berries are in season right now. Last edited by pochercoaster; 07-22-2014 at 03:30 PM. |

Try grilling or lightly searing the strawberries. Do it right and you caramelize the sugars in them to make their flavor pop. If you can use a grill, it also can lend a wonderful smoky flavor to the salad.

Ok, First of.. Poches... that right there, looks delicious.
I had a dish i did a few rare times that is less elaborate than that but also tasted quite well which was a mixed greens with chopped Apples and chopped olives, served with pink-grilled salmon on salt and pepper and butter scrambled eggs with herbs (just go for your own personal mix of flavors and smells), simple dish, tastes amazing. |

Hit upon a killer way to do pulled pork in the crock pot for me.
Quote:
2) Add remaining 2 tablespoons of brown sugar to crock pot, along with vinegar and 2 cups water. Whisk to dissolve brown sugar, then add roast. 3) Cook on high setting ~5-6 hrs or low ~8-9 hrs. 4) Remove pork and transfer to cutting surface. Chop roast into large chunks. 5) Strain crock pot liquid into saucepan. Bring liquid to boil and reduce to around 1/2 volume. 6) Return roast to crock pot, adding 1 cup of reduced cooking liquid and 1 cup of barbecue sauce. Fully shred pork with two forks, mixing sauce well. Let sit ~30 min - 1hr on low. Serve on hamburger buns or other sandwich rolls.
