So we lost John Hurt:
http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/27/entert...ohn-hurt-obit/ And earlier Mary Tyler Moore: http://variety.com/2017/tv/news/mary...ow-1201969717/ Things aren't looking too great for 2017. |

To be honest though, more and more of the beloved actors we know and love (and grew up watching) will pass away in the upcoming years. A lot of them are aging boomers and some of them have had problems with substance abuse in the past causing them to have shortened lives due to that lifestyle. It's very unfortunate to say the least, and I think 2017 may end up being as bad, if not worse, when it comes to celebrity deaths.
For me though, I'll be especially heartbroken if John Williams passes away this year (he's 84 according to his Wiki page). Not being able to discover new music written by him in future films is mind-boggling to say the least.

You also forgot about Miguel Ferrer.
But yeah, we are kind of getting into that period of time when the older actors that we grew up with ARE starting to die off, and it's more noticeable because of stuff like social media and the like as well.

I can't really care much about celebrities dying at elderly ages when we'd expect them to pass away (note that this perspective would not apply if/when we lose a celebrity at an age far too young to be reasonably anticipated) when so much of 2017 so far has been the Antichrist incarnate fucking up my country with policies so monstrous that George W. Bush now looks like a goddamn canonized saint by comparison
At this juncture the greatest loss of 2017 is the loss of human decency. Rest in peace, human decency! You'll be missed.

The worst part is that was literally only one week. Like, only 25% of 2017 so far has been this and it's already this bad.

Has it only been one week?
It feels like it's been years already.

Really I think it's gotten so bad that even mourning awesome people is still so much better than the reality of Trump that it is still an escape.
But anyway I have been thinking that our generation is pretty screwed because we came basically right after a generation with a large population boom so there is a disproportionate number of awesome people of advanced age right now. |
