Disappearing comic files

Just noticed I can't view any of the comics anymore, same for at least two other people so it's unlikely to be on my end. The site loads fine, just the image files won't; in the source text where the image is usually called upon it actually says

<img src="">

Nikose's guess would be "wordpress update that botched the comicpress install" so I'm putting that here for a responsible person to consider. Personally I don't know wordpress from a french press so v
