"Any New Good Games Out?" or "I Know I Said I Hated Sequels, But..."

I know I'm on record with saying I'm not overly fond of developers refusing to take a chance on new ideas and release a few new games that don't have increasingly large numbers on the end, but after finishing The Walking Dead thing and not crying at the end like the big macho manly man that I am, I'm trying to figure out what to play next.

I mean, I've just been through KOTOR 2 which was awful, Resistance 3, which was actually pretty great, The Walking Dead, which was fantastic, and now I'm left looking at the game store shelf, not willing to take a chance on anything. I took a chance on a new beer last week and it was awful. Really bad, it was spiced, with some sort of sweet after taste. Eugh. So I'm worried that a new game might leave me with a bad taste in my mouth, which is totally different than wanting game companies to take a chance on new titles.

So... (I know I'm going to live to regret this) I'm trusting you guys. What's come out in the last year or two? Doesn't matter; RPG, Action, FPS, Farming Simulator... I know I should look into getting Starcraft 2 now that Blizzard's ~~advertising budget bought the internet~~ has tastefully reminded me that it's available, but I remember so little of the plot that I would have to dig out the Starcraft Battle Chest to replay the first one.
