Obviously, I'm outclassed as a nerd here, with all the rapid name dropping, I'm unable to continue. So on everything save the following point I must falter.

The people who are revolutionary and improve upon what we expect as fans often end up failing us because we expect them to continue to revolutionize their own works which they often can't do. A la George Lucas. But liike a fan/amnesiac/alzheimers patient I'm going to wait until 2007, buy the book and see how it came out rather then judge it today.
The next set of spoilers are jokes, so don't be a wuss about it and take it like a man.
