It's a pretty easy choice all things considered.
Well I plan on getting around to both, it's just a matter of which do I delve into first. And that's kind of the problem; I'm not sure if I want to start off with Zelda-esque gameplay or DMC-ish gameplay. I might just end up flipping a coin though.

If you want DMC ish gameplay get DMC3.

I know I suck that dick every other Wendsday but seriously man Bayonetta didn't set my heart on fire.

Anyway I'll stop threadjacking cause I've got a review coming up Friday and I'm kinda drunk. Continue as you were!

EDIT: (That and Darksiders is more like God of War combat with Zelda/Prince of Persia gameplay.)

I have DMC3 actually, though I'm not as tempted to revisit a classic as I am to try something new.

Default I have about 20 unopened games.

Neverwinter Nights - Cause I have never actually beaten the main campaign despite playing the online a bunch.
Fallout 3 DLC - Cause I Just got it all.
No One Lives For Ever - FPS 60s spy action!
Megaman 9 Protoman Mode - Must be ready for MM10...
Disgaea 2 Dark Hero Days - It's really like crack.
Persona - Started over and am now trudging along on the Snow Queen Quest after going back and beating the main story.
Final Fantasy Legend 2 - Just playing it in class during the lectures where I'm learning a whole lot of nothing.

Yugioh 5Ds Tag Force 4: It's almost funny how I picked this over Disidia Final Fantasy and Disgaea 2.

Say what you will but the AI in that game is much better then it was in the previous 3 games. So much it feels like it's cheating sometimes. And my partner isn't an idiot for once

Bioshock - In place of nothing new to play I decided to break out Bioshock again. Playing through on Survivor difficulty... without using vita chambers. Very hard.

Darksiders - Finished it last week, so technically I'm not playing it right now, but I figured it was still recent enough to apply for this thread.

Wipeout HD - I always have time for Wipeout

Uncharted 2 - I would still be playing this more, except for the fact that for some reason Naughty Dog recently decided to erase everyones online progress and reset us all to level 1, so the multiplayer now has not even the slightest semblance of balance when it auto-assigns teams. I think I may be giving up on this now.

Borderlands - Still haven't finished with this, and I'm debating whether to continue and also get the new DLC. With newer games coming within a month this may also go on the shelf with Uncharted.

Dwarf fortress. I finally figured out how to work the command system. After 3 or 4 false starts I've got a fortress with Dwarfs that have started to reproduce. As I type I am violently resisting the urge to go back and let the game eat another 5 hours of my life and a little bit more of my soul.

I'm replaying Persona 4. Just finished the Heaven dungeon. Aww, Nanako.

I also just received Planescape: Torment in the mail so I'll be playing that for the first time ever pretty soon, should be fun.

And I'm going to be playing Medieval II: Total War pretty soon, corresponding with my Let's Play.

Interestingly, thinking about Persona 4 has led me to attempt to compile another list:

If Solid Snake Was Marooned on a Desert Island and Could Only Play 5 Games for the Rest of His Life, Which would he Choose to Bring?

1: Persona 4
2: Chrono Trigger
3: Metal Gear Solid 3
4: Medieval II: Total War
5: Shadow of the Colossus

It's interesting how that list differs somewhat from a list of my "Top 5 Videogames Period." I prefer ICO over Shadow of the Colossus, for example, but Colossus has more replay value. Similarly, I prefer the original MGS over MGS3 in terms of story, and so I generally rate the original title higher, but if I were stuck on a desert island I'd want access to the game with the best gameplay and graphics as well as a bitchin' story. Medieval II is a phenomenal game, but it wouldn't make my Top 10 videogames (its open-ended gameplay and re-playability make the difference here.)

Persona 4 would definitely make my Top 5, but it's not my favorite videogame of all time, whereas it'd easily be my #1 choice for a deserted island escapade. The one great element about Persona 4 is how the game effectively deceives you into believing 1: that its cast of characters are all living, breathing people, and 2:that you're bestest best friends with all of them (even Adachi he just doesn't know it yet.) Which is something I'd need to deceive myself into believing.

Sorry for hijacking your thread NonCon!
