Ok, guys!
AB has by far approved of what I have come up with so far. I'm putting the NPC teams up for you all to see for feedback and what-not. Some spoilers are implied since some NPCs listed here have yet to appear... The number beside the NPCs Trainer Name is the total base stats of the pokemons they have. Attempted range is within 2950-3200 although a few dip a bit higher and lower, especially for those with more prominent plot-roles. I have also included the stats for the custom pokemons. Note, that I'm still waiting for a profile for Jeanette's pokemons and Violet's form (or to be asked to make one for them. :3) NPCs' Pokemon Teams Pokemons already taken in Pokebrid forms: On other news, I asked some questions to AB and got some answers. *QUESTION* Regarding moves like Stealth Rock, Toxic Spikes and that sort of thing, do they work on all foes on the field or only on selected spots? I think it would be a good idea if they effected the entire field, given that otherwise the moves would do too little for the time it takes to lay them out and thus have little value given the huge battlefield size. (Although they could feasibly do the same to us unless we had a way to remove like like Rapid Spin). *ANSWER ABOUT TRAP MOVES* Full battlefield doesn't sound gamebreaking. However, that would effect enemy reinforcements as well as your characters and Pokemon when switched out with Enforcers, and I think that won't be too much of an issue. Sounds expected, right? *I assume he means that switch in traps only effect one side (the opposing side, DUMMY!), but they effect both pokemons and pokebrids/Slayers that step on the field when switched in instead of just pokemons. If so, that sounds logical and cool.* *QUESTION* What happens if Ditto is sent out and there is no selectable pokemons or pokebrid forms to mimic? (I can only assume you wouldn't allow Ditto to mimic a Ruin General or Pokeweapon or something) Also could a Ditto choose to copy an ally instead of being limited to copying a foe? At least that means there is never a reason why Ditto is unable to contribute, even if all the foes are unsuitable targets for transformation. *ANSWER REGARDING DITTO* That's a tough one. I'm thinking that Ditto should be able to mimic Ruin Pokemon with some exceptions (can't mimic an Atunhand and turn a corpse into a Juggernaut, for example), though I intend to make so that there will be a lot of Pokemon-based enemies for Ditto to mimic, assuming you all don't kill 'em fast. Ditto should be allowed to mimic allies. Oh, you can also have Ditto mimic Pokebrids and PokeWeapons, (Do you mean Pokemercs?) and you can decide which moves of that Pokebrid or Pokemerc form you want Ditto to have. Additionally, if Ditto's not the Leader Pokemon and he does mimic one, you'll have to choose four of the six that the leader has. I'm also asking this: *QUESTION* How will Sleep Talk work on a Pokebrid? Personally, I think Sleep Talk should allow us to choose the move we want to use instead of it being random. Sleep status is already hard to control unless you use Rest, and that takes up a turn, so that's already quite a bit of a hurdle. Allowing the ability to choose the moves while sleeptalking gives some pokemons another unique avenue to fight while taking out the frustration of randomization for both the players and the GM (who has to find SOME way to randomly choose out of all of those moves). ^^ On a side note, many legendaries not listed above are being made available to choose for teams (AB had them assigned but changed his mind on a bunch). However, there are few restrictions. Mew, Lugia, Cressilia, Darkrai: All owned by villain and not to come to our hands any time soon. Mewtwo: Owned by a different villain. Reshiram: Cause I'm replacing my Magnezone with him. Zekrom: Presumably because Drac is going to take him. Victini: Reserved for Matthias as a form. Manaphy: Owned by Regina ANYHOW, once I get people's feedback and things look ok to proceed, I'll run up some movesets, items and stats (need to hand-crank all the pokemon's hitpoints stats according to our modified system. Not a problem though). Anyhow, I'm off to work. See you all later! Last edited by Menarker; 05-01-2011 at 02:41 PM. |

Yes, I mean Pokemercs, sorry.
And you're right on the trap moves. Good lookin' out. Honestly, I don't understand Sleep Talk and when it concerns a Pokebrid, it's just insane. How did talking in one's sleep become an attack, anyways? Unless the talking itself is an attack (like Growl or even Sing), I don't think a character who is asleep should be able to use a Thunderbolt or Psychic. 'Cause all yer doing is sleeping. Then again, maybe it's just the name that I have a problem with. If they call it Sleep Action, I wouldn't have a problem. Allowing Pokebrids to use their moves like usual during sleep because of Sleep Talk is fine, under one condition: no Rage gains when attacking. For the same reason of having difficulty when choosing a move, I hope nobody decides to have their Pokemon use Metronome. Not sure why anyone would. The only time I ever had a Pokemon use Metronome was when Metronome was the only possible way it could attack an enemy (hey, it works, it's just shitty) outside of Struggle. |
