Looking back on things, I think it would have been better for me to have started The Dreadful with a series of one-shot stories, rather than the way it is now. I've often wondered if it would be possible to get the comic to a point where I could do that. Like just have Kit get too busy with other things and "forget" about Jeanne and Poe for awhile, but I don't know if that would work.

Well, I'm just some guy who reads lots and lots of comics, but I reckon you could do that IF you have some sort of confrontation between the three first. Just have it come up inconclusive-like and you can work from there. BUT, you gotta have some sort of confrontation between who you've set up as the protagonist and the primary antagonist before you can walk off into other stories.

At least, that's how it works in the serials I read.
