So I finally--finally--got myself a copy of Disgaea DS, after being obliged to reorder it because GoHastings.com are a collection of dipshits who couldn't find their own asses with flashlights, a map and a crack team of experienced ass-location guides. I've only poked around in it a little so far, so once I get into it in earnest you may never hear from me again. But I already like pretty much everything but the voice acting, which sounds fairly mediocre.
I've also been doing some grinding in Final Fantasy V Advance, because I've started that game like three times already and I want to actually finish a playthrough for once. Besides, all that job-level grinding is good for killing time when I need to. Working on getting Level 5 Death from the Library of the Ancients. (Fact: more RPGs need library dungeons. I think that's a neat idea.)

Just playin' me some thief 2 at the moment. Good game. Very atmospheric. Occasionally hilarious. Extremely immersive. Flash bombs FTW!
Other than that, advance wars DS. Trying to finish all the war room maps with Hawke. |

Hey Sith, maybe you should wander on over to the thread. We could use more
Anyways, what'm I playin'? Namuch, actually. For some reason, recovering after a total system crash leaves me with little desire to play. I'm constantly afraid that if I do ONE THING I'll upset some delicate balance within my computer and have to restart it all over again.

In other news the shear awesomeness of the game and the dwarfs was cemented when one of my guard dwarfs had a baby while on duty at her guard post and simply carried on guarding the drawbridge. Now that's dedication. Edit: Oh and I've picked up Borderlands again in my non-dwarf fortress time. Planing to preorder Mass Effect 2 and when I get some money Dragon Age and Darksiders are definitely on the list of things to play. That is if Dwarf Fortress ever lets me go. |

I'm playing
Katamari Forever - because it's so damned addictive. Disgaea 3 - Liking the story more than the first two so far, and my only gripe is the removal of tutoring. I miss being able to teach a healer offensive magic so easily. Mass Effect - Replaying in preparation for ME2. Dwarf Fortress - starting to get there, probably a bit behind where Sith is at.

However, this is why I'm bored with my fortress. I did steal the Workgill save file, however, and plan on loading it up next time I'm in a state of mind to play and dicking with all those things my fortress doesn't have. Once I'm fully confident in my skills I may sign up, though.

Borderlands, though having played out each class I am playing it less unless friends are on.
Brutal Mass Effect on a second character to refresh for the release of the sequel. I had a good time playing an offensive biotic instead of a Space Invaders Extreme is just the kind of DS game I love. It's quick, it's beautifully animated, and it's fast-paced fun. I also like the heavy music motif going on in it. Counter-Strike was one of my first online-with-people games since back when it was a beta mod for HL, so I still play that fairly regularly when I have an urge to shoot at people (well, the Source version, at any rate). I've been playing a bit of Zero Hour skirmishes lately. I tend to get into a Generals kick for a few weeks every half a year or so. I like the general powers, I guess. e3: The new Super Mario Bros. Wii, while entertaining alone, is probably the best thing aside from Smash Bros. on that console [perhaps the only thing, but that's another story...] with friends. It is equally fun to work together to demolish the levels and to work against each other to kill all of your teammates and make the team fail the levels. I am a big fan of picking someone up and tossing them toward an enemy while yelling, "Go get'em." That was good times. I just logged a few hours in Guild Wars for the first time in about two months. Had been going pretty strong with that for a while last year up through November but just stopped due to Borderlands and work. Still not as exciting and certainly not as novel as it once was, but I guess I like character-hopping in that game well enough (I have 11). I should get around to playing Fallout 3 to completion instead of just being like level 5-10 and doing jack shit. And Bioshock, too, so I can justify playing the second one. I have also been playing Settlers of Catan, Fluxx, and Puerto Rico whenever possible/we get enough interested parties together. Unfortunately, the "write grant proposals and book chapters" game is going to have to take priority now. e: Oh and the "interpret mixed signals" game has been going on, though I've gotten better at cutting through the BS. e2: And as much as I hate the character design for the player-character, I may have to get Bayonetta. The combat is too much fun.

I.... I'm playing....
Wow I'm actually not playing anything, despite having a brand new Xbox 360 and games in my room. I need to fix this. I guess I'm kind of playing The Sims 3. And to an extent I'm playing Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. I've actually never beaten the remake so I've been sloooooooooooooooowly going through it. In very very short bursts. I think I'm only after the Ocelot fight. It doesn't help that the cords to my Gamecube are kind of crappy so I lose image every ten minutes.
