Nobody is acting like they are. The way I see it, Shiney wants to do something for her, because he does actually feel bad about it and would do anything he could to make it right. Unfortunately, he really doesn't know what he can do to make it right. I don't think anyone would. He's asking a community that he is a part of and that means something to him to help him out, because that's the only thing he can think of to do.
