I don't get it.
Maybe it's just the geek in me but I don't get what's appealing about seeing two grown men beat each other to a pulp. Same goes for "professional" wrestleing (although less so as it's more 'soap opera in underroos' than wrestleing) or UFC fighting. I can appreciate to some degree the appeal of seeing different fighting styles or skills but if anything embodies this it's going to lean more towards specific martial arts competition or something. I mean, I'd rather watch fencing to be perfectly honest. Of course I really enjoy Fighting-themed video games, so do I have some sort of unreasonable double-standard or just appreciating that in video games no one actually has to get hurt to provide me with entertainment?
