Napoleon98 You should've PM him instead.

Now on topic... I highly doubt that anyone would get rid of the first admendment. Something would leak out. You can slience every person in the US without someone noticeing something is wrong. If the people showed up at our doors and tried to take our guns who ever had their gun taken would tell someone or be killed. I think that someone notice that their not there anymore.

As for the army. They are defending America. Would they defend domething the don't belive in?

no the army would not protect america if they would not believe in it. but you also have to look at what the government is willing to do to KEEP the army in their control. the army wouldnt really be losing any rights if you think about it. the second amendment only applies to regular citizens and not the army. people in the army would still be eligible to carry around weapons on them. same goes with the police.

also if the government did take out the second amendment, would it really be that bad as long as the army still fights for what it believes in and stays true to those beleifs? it would make the crime rates go down severly as since you cant rob a bank if you dont have a gun, can you?

Not to mention the fact that if the army did go beserk the government would be unable to control it anymore due to massive corruption and new people comming into and out of power weekly if not daily. So if any part of the bill or rights goes, the government as a whole goes only to be reborn from its ashes with fresh leaders and ideas and lead by the common people again.

Also to all you that say you would assassinate the president. GOOD LUCK! that would one of the MOST DIFFICULT things to do before someone else or getting caught but FBI/CIA. your best bet to assissinate the president would have to be the day he has a public speech in an OPEN area...you know outdoors...just to give you some help. Removed. another thing is, how would you get a gun that can shoot that accuratly from a LONG distance. youd have to be a hell of a sharpshooter to snipe out a president because there is no way you are gonna get a hand gun near enough and be able to aim it long enough to get a good shot off.

I know I'd probably fail, but there'd be so many attempts that at least one would surely succeed. If I liquidated my assets and pooled it with my friends I'd probably have the $5000 for a good sniper rifle, or I could borrow one of their guns and steal the $5000. Still, I live in Texas, so someone would probably do the deed before I could make it to Washington D.C.

Also, if the second amendment goes, who or what could possibly stop the president and his Armed Forces from turning on the people and declaring a dictatorship? Look at the amendment's wording:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Actually it would increase the crime rate if anything. You have to remember, criminals are not above purchasing guns from the black market. If someone is really determined, they'll get one. Not to mention that buying from the black market is illegal as well. You wind up with one person commiting three crimes instead of three people commiting one crime.

As far as assassinating the president, all you need is a patsy and a magic bullet.

B_real_shadows, get rid of that blacked out shit. Never say that crap on our forums. That can get everyone in a lot of trouble. If I catch you saying you've been giving a lot of thought to anything like that you're gone, for good. No fucking questions asked. Understand? This goes for ALL of you. No bullshit about killing presidents, no theoretical discussions about it. I might know you aren't serious, but I daresay if anyone with real authority found out they wouldn't be as understanding.

Assuming the Republicans are using Schivo (not sure I spelled that right) for political reasons (which I have to agree, to some extent they are, but I don't beleive thats the whole reason), how is that any different than the so called, "right to die" people exploiting it for their own reasons (advancing the euthanasia of people who did not request it).
It's different because this was emergency legislature passed for only Terri. It's different because they abused their position to overrule the decision of the states. They aren't supposed to do that. It's one thing to lobby congress. It's another thing altogether to hold an emergency vote for a specific instance in which you should never have gotten involved.

The military is made of people too. When they leave the military, their bill of rights comes back. The bill of rights affects their families and friends who are non-military. To ignore that just because of the uniform they wear would be true treason. It's one thing to turn your back on your government, but to turn your back on your country is abhorrent.

I'm reminded of a quote DarthZeth used once. Only a true patriot would defend his country from its own government. Or something to that effect.

Ok, there's no way that the removal of guns would lower the crime rate, I mean guns are one of the main deterants of crime. Think about it, if someone's willing to rob a bank, they're damn sure gonna be willing to buy a gun ilegally, and once you know that no one in there except the lone security guard has a gun (and he may not since a security guard ain't a cop) he's gonna go rob as many as he can in one day... He'll be able to break into some of the really rich houses, cause who's going to stop him? Unless it's Macaulay Culkin they'll get away with it :-p

Actually, Shiney, I just got rid of it now. It's not really worth leaving that there considering the stupid shit we've heard about happening with less 'dangerous' comments than that these days. Even Seanbaby had a run in.

Thanks. B_real_shadows this isn't a forum warning, this is a real life warning: watch your idiot mouth online unless you want to land in a world of trouble. Not from me. Not from bannings or whatever. From people who jail first and ask questions much later.

If the amendment where to be removed it would be by our own choice. All that is necessary is fear. If a charismatic leader can scare us enough about the barbarians at the gates we will beg him to remove our rights to protect us.

Does anyone else see the irony in this? I think the whole episode with B_real_shadows hidden text only helps to outline how much our First Amendment Rights are being infringed. Not only are we afraid of Government agents patrolling online forums, but we're afraid that they're going to bust us for idle speculation, as treasonous as it may be.

That's not to say that what B_real_shadows did wasn't stupid, I just think it's interesting.
