D&D Gold/XP Equivalency (is now general D&D playstyles thread)

Pretty sure it's no problem to refer to single specifics of any given power or feat, like "yeah, take Hydrogen Bomb at level 25, it goes against Reflex" or "Summon Elder Evil is an Arcane attack, should go well with my Improve Arcane Attacks feat." Just complete stat blocks I'm not so sure about. (I'm really not sure, by the way, but I understand it's not kosher to quote stats or non-SRD 3.5 monsters either, so better to err on the side of caution.)

Tactics just has to learn to stop getting carried away with things :p I could just imagine him sitting there reading the book as he is typing this all out, and it makes me laugh!

Do you guys use Minatures when you play?

We've been using the DnD minis for ours, cause my dad went ape shit and bought a smackload of boxes of them so we have a fair amount of figures but we're looking at getting better ones for our Player Characters, any recomendations on really good ones?

I've just been having my group use the D&D Mini's. If you want, some of the Warhammer Fantasy stuff might be nice and are already set on one inch square bases for the most part. Of course you'd have to paint them yourself, but some people aren't big balls of lazy like I am.

I can't pain worth shit, but one of my friends loves to and is really good at it. So we may make him paint if he wants his character to not develop a speech impediment and lose a hand somehow. I do have a 200L tot filled with mini's still and we're using like 200 at my friends place

Yeah, I don't paint, so D&D Mini's was about the best thing to happen for my game in a long while. The best part was that I've had lots of fun just trying to plan adventures out of the minitures I have.

Haha. We have a rule now due to idiotics of our group that anything placed on a table becomes a monster that we have to fight. This was after someone put my Colossal Red Dragon on it.(Its Fucking Huge!). So we have fought some weird monsters such as the never ending water glass and the pencil of doom. But yeah the mini's are a great addition to the game and make battles much more fun.

Miniatures are practically mandatory.

Which I started out hating but it makes more sense and is much easier, considering there's now no longer any "I five foot step here, can he hit me?" "...Maybe?" Grid-based without any of the messy 'foot' mechanics makes things nicer.

Damn, you curse one chest of gold dust to turn into a golem and suddenly everyone is afraid to play one of your campaigns.

They just hate me cause I build traps to maim and/or kill. A trap in an acient tomb should not be non-fatal damn it.

Yeah we always used grid based even back to second edition. We worked without a grid for a while cause we warhammer gamers so have lots of rulers and things but grid is so much easier.
