Likely not going to happen though, given how AB wants us to get to Hungry World pretty soon after the beach mission to introduce the demon upgrades in the first place.

I can only imagine how Pierce will react when he finally is able to view people's aura. He'll probably be especially curious as to why the other PCs like Renny, Charlotte and Matthias aren't registering.

So... Dante, how is Matthias getting upgraded? I don't recall or see anything showing what upgrades you plan to get. ^^ I mean, from the look of it, you might even hit Deva level! *Woot!*

It's in the rules for aura reading. It just won't work on PCs.

Here are the rules as copy and pasted.

Aura Reading:

Aura Reader works pretty simple. Look at someone. If that target has an aura, you can find out their opinion of your character. PCs will have auras, but will be “unreadable” due to some sort of unknown characteristic.
- You can kind of tell what something really is by whether it has an aura or not. For example, Wilhelmina is an android. She doesn't have an aura, but if you didn't know this, you would kinda be able to figure it out by seeing that she has no aura.
- Demons, Demon Halfs, and Feral Demons (demonic monsters or "Fiends") can all conceal their auras, though Fiends usually don't bother hiding theirs because when you see them, they almost always have only one thing on their minds: the next meal.
I thought I made it simple enough. All you need to do to see an aura is look at that person. Even if they don't know you're there, they'll still exhibit an aura representing their opinion towards the viewer.

Here's the general rundown:
- Dark blue means that the person has no opinion of you. That person may have seen you, but doesn't know your name or anything else about you.
- Light blue shows familiarity, but still nothing in the way of an opinion. They just...know you. Maybe if you spent some time together?
- Dark green reflects favorable standing. That person considers you a friend and may be willing to lend you a few bucks or buy you a drink.
- With lighter greens, the friendship is stronger. That person is obviously going to buy you a birthday present, and they might even take a bullet for your great friendship. This is usually one of the steps towards love.
- Pink is unique...hey, that kinda rhymes. Anyways, light pink is love. Now you can see if that person really means it when they say the big L word.
- Dark pink is lust. Forget the romance. Don't bother with fancy french dining. Who needs scented candles and dim lights? Just ditch the clothes and jump her bones. Usually, feelings of love and lust are given off at the same time, but not always.
- Bright orange is admiration. That person really looks up to you. Hell, they idolize you. If the person is the opposite gender (or gay) and you're around the same age, you may see pink interlaced with the orange. That's usually a match made in heaven.
- Bright yellow reflects nervousness and fear. The person isn't entirely sure how to approach you if they need to speak to you. You've gotta break the ice. Girls like Calisto and Mirror will sport this aura for many characters.
- Dark yellow reflects suspicion. Impact is likely going to see a lot of dark yellow auras from various NPCs.
- Bright red is anger. That person just doesn't like you, and it may not even be your fault. Be careful how you approach them because...
- Dark red is open hostility. Get ready for some fisticuffs. Most of your enemies will display this aura coloration. But it's not always personal. Some of them wanna kill you because that's their job. Your demise is what they get paid to bring about.
- Dark orange is mind control. That person's mind is subdued by overwhelming psionics and his or her will has been bent to the will of the one who did it.
- Brown auras is more or less sheer insanity. Usually mixed with dark red (open hostility). Their minds are gone to places where nobody can recover them and it's just in everyone's best interest that you put 'em down.

So basically, while the characters have auras, there will be some sort of interference when trying to get any useful info out of it...

And whats this about us not registering? I'd have no problem registering Charlotte's feelings towards anyone.

Also, AB gave me some suggestions about possible abilities Charlotte could gain from Phantomere. What do you guys think?

- Claws of Phantomere ~ 25% chance of Pokemon causing Flinch when dealing/receiving damage when Charlotte's Rage >= 70 RP.
- Deadly Harvest ~ 25% chance of Pokemon causing Death when attacking when Charlotte's Rage >= 70 RP.
- Possession Link ~ When Charlotte's Rage >= 70, choose a target. 50% chance of Domination, 50% chance of maintaining Domination on subsequent turns as long as Charlotte's Rage >= 70. If Charlotte chooses a different target, the original target is no longer dominated.

I'm thinking of going with Possession Link because I like the odds of it success, but I want to see what you guys think.

Claws of Phantomere doesn't really work when "receiving damage" because the enemy will have already attacked by then and thus flinching them is useless unless you're hoping to rob them of their next turn. It also won't protect you from the other attackers that have yet to attack. That combined with low success rate when attacking makes it not the best choice in my mind.

Deadly Harvest is an interesting effect, but once again, low success rate.

There only only two real bonuses about the two above.
One is that you aren't losing an action. It's basically a bonus that doesn't risk anything. While the success rate isn't awesome, it doesn't require you to behave much differently (aside from not spending your rage).
The other is the above bonuses might be useful with moves that hit multiple foes at once like Discharge or Surf or something like that.


Possession Link requires you to spend an action (and risk having it be a dud action), but the success rate is higher and there are probably a few things we can do with a dominated person. It also remove an attacker from consideration. That said, it is a gamble.


Ultimately though, it's up to you.
Also, have you discussed with AB what the future upgrades from Phantomere might be like? You might want to ask in case some of them synergize better (assuming you get multiple abilities) or if Phantomere is willing to boost the success rate of an existing ability Charlotte has.
