Oh, this is a tough one. I could go with a totally serious answer, or I can say something stupid like Jenna Jameson...Yea I'll stick with that one haha.

Jenna Jameson.

I don't think her oeuvre is influenced enough by German expressionism. Also, dammnit, I can't remember if you hate Newton or not to see if I want to change my answer. I mean, on the one hand, everyone likes Newton and you're SMB...but maybe you also like apples?

His point is Newton was a douche. Whether or not he hates him, I can't say.

Actually, scratch Edison. I was overthinking things instead of going with my gut.

Rather, I submit Leon Tolstoy.

Let's get this train a moving:
Instant winner was Zachary Taylor, a president so good he had to die.
The Wizard would have also done well because wizards are fucking awesome.
Newton would have actually done well for having the balls to be such a colossal dickhead.
Lagrange and Cuvier would also have done well, also Coriolanus and Paracelsus- mostly because his full name is Theophrastus Bombastus Von Hoffenheim. Truffuat on the arts side of things.

Ranking shall be done on the Taylor scale of awesomeness
200MilliDarwins-(mD)- Jenna Jameson- Enkidnu- Come now, you are not even trying
100mD- Tucker Carlson- Seil- Saved from the bottom by wearing crazy ties
80mD-Sir Arthur Currie- KrogothWolf-World War 1 was full of crazy awesome people. Boring Canadian generals do not count in this class however.
40mD- Douglas Adams- Zilla. I don't know anything about Adams as a person but I tried to read Hitchikers Guide once and it was awful so he ends up here.
10mD- Julius Caesar-ApeBoy- The late Roman republic is one of the most bullshit periods of history and is done to absolute death when the early Roman republic is far cooler and is actually much more enlightening for historians. As the poster boy for the late republic Caesar is taking a beating from me.
0-William Wallace- TWG- The real Wallace is nowhere near as cool as the movie version. Ambivalence.
20milliTaylors (mT)- Tesla- 42Petunias- While Tesla is pretty cool he is let down by his field. Anyone can be a mad physicist/engineer but it takes a real genius to be a mad mathmatician like Cantor or sociologist like Galton who were working at that time.
40mT- Kubrick- Lummy- Nowhere near my favourite director (Truffuat and Fassbinder hold that and would have done well) but made some alright movies and refuses to discuss his work which appeals to the post-structuralist in me.
40mT- Bowie- Moogle- Made some crazy songs and a rocking movie but his awesomeness is pretty much limited to his clothes.
80mT- Mandela- Garud- A generally nice guy and did a lot of good work but nothing to distinguish him as a great.
150mT- Freddie-RejectedAgain A brillaint creative talent who also drinks yellow water and whose legacy inspires an uprising against a Pop-Idol dominated future where music is outlawed. But until that happens he sits here.
250mT- Guy Fawkes-RR- Every year my friends and I take about 2 days out of examtime to build giant effigies to celebrate the death of Guy Fawkes and his catholic conspirators. Highlights have included fully flammable gallows about 10 ft high and a firework powered Popemobile. The fact that we are willingly to take out exam time to do this sshows how much of an ass he was. King James was a great king and shall live forever in our hearts. He gets a whole lot of points for inspiring awesomeness at Guy Fawkes time.

Now for the excellent answers:
350mT- Benjamin Franklin- Blues- He was rocking in Day of the Tentacle and a generally rocking dude alright. Gets a lot of points for being a renaissance man who doesn't actually live in the renaissance- otherwise known as "Let's copy the Greeks and the Arabs and the Chinese and claim we are awesome". I have no real problem with Franklin but he was just beaten out by stiff competition.

400mT- Leo Tolstoy- POS-
I'm torn on Tolstoy. He was one of my least favourite Russian novelists, mostly because his literary style was about 50 years out of date but he had awesome things to say about educational reform and politics and philosophy. Importantly he didn't really do anything about these last points, mostly just kept them to himself because he was convinced everyone else was dicks, and that my friends, is awesome.
Edison would have been a bit below Franklin about 300mT

500mT- Bookie- Napoleon-
Fully the best bit about Napoleon was not his Empire or all the little anecdotes he spawned.
It is the fact that through his educational reforms and his aggressive promulgating of French sciences alongside the animosity with Britain he inspired fully the best bit of history ever, the Cambridge integral wars.
Loses points for not doing it on purpose.

700mT- Kafka- Wizo, The Ape of Sades-
Wrote awesome books, let the most bohemian of all lives and wanted all his works to be burned when he died because the rest of the world was too primitive to understand them. Rock on.

900mT- Robert E Lee- Overcast-
Doesn't have much to recommend himself but gets a whole crapload of points for nearly being Zachary Taylor 2.0.

1.2T- Jesus- MaskedJedi
The only person cool enough to take down the Taylor, he's so awesome he broke the scale. People might see this as a lame pick but what can I say. It's Jeusus.

Take it away MaskedJedi
