And fifth, you would have to go to www.minecraft.net, register and purchase the full version through paypal. The program itself is a free download, but you can only log into it if you've paid.

A note on SMP stuff

Until he gets more work done your inventory doesn't save if you log out, including anything you put into chests, and furnaces are a bit buggy

IDK if I can even really be upset given how inevitable it was, although man, people overall seem to be getting really douchey about flooding things.

Instead of using the full IP address, I just used the ~~link~~ access code thingy (I'm so technical) in Bob's post on page 3. (40 posts per page setting.)

EDIT ONCE MORE: It seems like the SMP likes to lock-up for me. Could be just the downloadable client though.

If the SMP server is limitless, how do spawnpoints work? I mean say you trek off into the distance for thousands of blocks and build some isolated city, would you be thousands of blocks away from it next time you log in to the server? Or can you set a spawn point for the next time you log in?

Once it is all finished, you should spawn where you logged off I would imagine

Right now, yeah, you would have to walk back i believe

Hey, know what I really enjoy most about this game? I can always look forward to new surprises when I log on! Like the lighthouse I spent an hour making having a hole drilled through it from top to bottom. I love making new scaffolding to complete tiny repairs!

This game kicks ass!

Seriously guys, have we not learned to watch where we're building and fix things we break? This shit's getting repetitive.

I'm lucky no one messes with my stuff, maybe it's because it's in a corner of the world. Also, survival is great

. But I won't do a lot of multiplayer until you can keep your stuff when you log off :/

yeah, I'll just be doing building cleanup on the free server, and spending lots of time on the paid-server constructing wooden structures.

If people are interested in a co-op build, I'd like to suggest building a classical-style castle wall, to contain a city of small wooden houses.

by my numbers, we'd need about 25 wooden houses, each would need to be 6 squares x 6 squares to really 'matter'. Adding extra floors would be a personal choice.

That means we would need the castle itself to be... let's say 50 x 50 square. Gives us room for some roads.

We would essentially need:

- A woodcutters guild, for both gathering wood to bring back for use in tools and building, as well as replanting trees so we still get growth.

- A Miner's guild, for being underground with the pickaxes, digging away; and

- Builder's guild, for crafting mining picks / axes out of wood/stone, and sending us down on our merry way- as well as laying out the castle foundations and building upwards. (Walls should be 5 squares thick for castle, so that we can have interior walkways and corner towers.

who here likes this?
